Given that you hit him first after he dropped the gear (yes I see that he jumped on you to perhaps try and take it back, but this doesn't mean he would have gotten it or not given it back after) I don't think this qualifies as scamming. You should have done this trade in a safe-zone, he was well within his rights to kill you there. Thank you for the report. Unfortunately the evidence provided is insufficient.
