I honestly have no idea, but I am more on the 'no' side. Private message or not it still completes it's purpose; promoting and persuading.

 

If it's in a msg, and you've requested the ip, then that's not a ban,

But if he/she just says I'm going to kitpvp and he/she says the ip, without you knowing her/him,

It might be a ban, but I'll leave this to the more experienced mods.

So, from a true standpoint of the rules/what can be done:

The problem with Private Messages is that most do not provide the full story, the only true way to provide actual evidence of foul practice/breaking the rules is to provide a before and after screenshot.

In what you provided as evidence does show the player giving you an IP.

However you provide no proof of you ASKING/NOR ASKING for said IP.

With your report, how do I know you didn't leave out the part where you "could/may have said"....." ok what's the IP"

How do we know this was forced upon you without you asking/your consent?

For staff to truly do anything there needs to be undeniable proof/breaking of the rules.

I am not saying you are staging this on purpose, but we can't punish every person based on a selective screenshot.

I need to see a good amount of before and after the conversation.

Sorry, but this is not enough evidence, the player did not distribute "Said IP" into global chat and you fail to provide proof of you asking not to be told "said IP" in Private message.

I suggest recording the conversation in the future or taking multiple Screen Shots.
