I understand, and I am going to start doing more reports as soon as I get back from my break. One thing that you are leaving out is I am in-game quite often. Yes, this is only half of what being mod is, and I am sorry for not doing reports as often as I should. Also, the only reason I am taking a break this week, is because my grandfather passed on yesterday. I am extremely stressed out right now, and I don't need the extra stress that comes from moderating the server. I will be back moderating by Monday. I want to thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I will try to do better on this issue in the future.
The phrase "Bite me" essentially means "I don't care", so you can substitute it for the other word. It wasn't intended to our dearest dedicated 'customers' walking into the Apple store canvasing for a shiny new iMac. It was intended to those customers of opposite store across the street who would walk into your store, come up at you and tell you that you are doing a tremendously horrible job at Apple. God knows what would happen to that store if they terminate me for not putting any attention into someone's attempt to diss and bash me. But still, i'm not here to argue about anything. The thread that you made, I agree with it completely. Therefore I will take that into account and apply it to my everyday performance:
The majority of the staff team isn't online for more then an hour a day. Which is ridiculous. I have honors classes and honors homework and I easily could play for an hour. Don't pull that "school is so difficult" crap.
I agree with you i mean some of us have hard school and college work home work and other stuff but atleast the staff needs to come on once a day for 1 hour not once in 2-4 days for 1 hour
Some people like me go to school for 10 hours and tutor for 5 hours. I wake up at 5:30 AM, go to school at 6:30 AM and go home at 9:30 PM. I have barely eaten my dinner and done my very long and annoying homework and this happens for everyday. I'm already feeling like a zombie. On weekends, i'm basically on for the whole day plowing through reports. ;)
You need to remember that we are in different grades and it gets harder. I don't know about you, but school is difficult for some people.
Ugh. I am still astonished of how far this has gone. I think It's time to get the facts straight. If you made a moderator application promising you were going to be active and promising you were going to be helpful then you need to do so. Otherwise, don't apply. The community doesn't have time to sit and wait for their report to be handled or their ban appeal to be accepted. In fact, I have seen people who haden't gotten a reply on their ban appeal for over a week yet mods post "24 hours to respond" I honestly just think half these current moderators are not fit for the job at all. Not even the slightest bit. I will not name them nor will I get descriptive. All I am saying is that they cannot do their jobs and they cannot do what they said they were going to do. I truly have one complaint that may start a argument towards that person but It needs to be said. It's the certain person who got asked to be a moderator here by Cypriot without a application. In my honest opinion, that was a terrible choice. So what this certain person moderates a certain other server. If you're promoted here then you need to do your job, no questions asked. It also has come to my attention of the moderators being in the middle of a job that was either told or requested and just leaving or suddenly going AFK. For instance, if a mod was going to unban someone because of the ban glitch, they would say "Okay, come ingame, I'll unban you" yet they leave or never even show up. It's just lack of participation and I don't appreciate it one bit. I find it very unfair that players have to cycle through a schedule just to get help. There is 16 moderators, if 16 moderators can't manage to take care of a community then I don't know why Moderators even exists here.
Things can change over time, someone might be reduced to less playtime on their computers as their parents want them to study harder for their study's, so they can't be as active as before, just like how they say in their mod app's that they can play on the server every day for a certain amount of time, when this happens though, they usually contact cyp in telling them; it is then up to cyp to decide what to do from there.
My suggestion: If you have school, work, other extracurricular activities in your life, and you can't handle being active as you said you would be, then step down. It's not the end of the world if you aren't mod. After all it's just a game. Being a moderator for a game isn't going on your resume to go to a college or university. It's not going to ruin your life. Honestly, this is just another hobby in your life, because it's not going to get you anywhere in life. And imo the only mods I see working around here is PandaBear and ScoFu
You know that half of these new mods on their application was biased support. You new mods (Not all) have shown little or none work and trying to make a mineverse a better place. Step it up or you will take the heat or be demoted.
If you are suggesting that they haven't tried, you are indeed wrong. Cheez's resignation thread was a great example of why the mods don't speak with Cyp. He literally doesn't have time to respond to them all the time and sometimes not at all, and the fact that you think you can DDoS him to get his attention when he is SO busy is beyond wrong Fen. You know this. Anyway this thread needs to please stay on topic so I will shut my mouth. I will please ask that unless you have evidence or input to add please don't post.
Cypriot has the time to respond to the community. He has time to respond to the mods in a higher value. Second off, stop trying to be a know-it-all. I did not ddos cypriot to get his attention. He told me to suck on my dead nans bones.
I'm commenting, since on this particular report it appears that that rule has been a bit neglected. If you want to apply warning points, feel free, I think it's worth it to comment here. Mineverse has lost moderators left and right this past couple of weeks. The workload is focused on fewer mods now, and this server is quite large obviously. You, as a separate person, see these people only through a screen, through the internet. People have lives, they have situations that are out of their control, they have things that will come between them and the "perfect level of activity". If those things get too time-consuming, they should step down, instead of taking a position they cannot uphold well. But the bottom line is, everyone sees that point as a different level of activity, the point when someone should step down, when someone is not doing their best job, is different in the eyes of each person. The good news is, the view that we must take is two part, Cyp's and the mod's themselves. What Cyp views as too little activity is what is going to get people warned or demoted. What the mod in question sees as too little activity is going to show them when stepping down is in order. It really is none of our places to say; "This person is too inactive". We can suggest they try to raise their activity, we can say that we think they are too inactive, that they should try harder, but we have no right to say what is enough activity, all of that is up to Cyp. This thread has fulfilled it's original purpose, which was to bring inactivity to the mod's attention. No need to turn it into a flame war.
