If we are not online, it is fine but when I am obviously there, it can annoy me. Mini-mods could just utilize that energy to report players so real action can be taken.

I'm definitely against it, due to it being very odd and annoying when the real moderators aren't on the server. If they really want to substitute a mod's job they can simply apply for actually being one and not 'mini-moderating'/whatever the term is being used.

In the perspective of a real moderator, I'm pretty sure they won't like the idea of other players (not mods) doing they're job.

And in a regular player's perspective, first of all it's annoying, as I have stated before and second, if we don't listen to the 'mini-moderators', often they would get upset and I mean come on, would you really want to be like "okay, substitute-mod I won't do it again." ?

Mini-modding I honestly think if anything helps the server... They are only enforcing the rules. Sometimes mods aren't around, someone has to help?
I can see how it's annoying, but it doesn't do any harm.
Of course if a mod is there helping the player, don't come in and try to help... The mod has it under control and are the ones who were officially given that job.

There is a difference between reminding and aggravating. Depends on what 'minimod' you are. From personal experience the ones that are very annoying are those who try to 'beat the moderator to it' kind of 'mini mod'. Other than that reminding other of the rules at appropriate times, in the correct context is alright.

From my experience as a Moderator, it is annoying, especially when a staff member is online.
If someone is swearing/spamming/being disrespectful, report them. Don't try to be a Moderator.

What's wrong with telling people to stop breaking the rules?

There is nothing wrong with mini modding as long as you don't claim to be a mod.

I'm personally against mini-modding only because it can get newer players confused on what's actually wrong and what's actually right.

If it confuses new players then it isn't mini modding, it's misinforming players of the rules.

I understand. But sometimes people who mini-mod think they know what they're doing but they actually don't.

I don't care for mini-modding unless the mods are actually doing their "jobs."

      So on Mineverse it's okay

I think mini modding is fine only when mods are offline

It's alright to ask people to stop swearing, disrespecting, etc.

What's not alright is acting like you have authority and are above others and spreading false information ('rules' that aren't actually rules).

In some ways I appreciate the effort people take to mini-mod. Most do it to prove they are mod material and I see no issue. It is when they decide to mini-mod when a mod is online and fully capable that bugs me. Though in a way I find it saves me time, frees me up to full focus on something else.

So in other words mini mods are of value to me as slaves and all i need to do is correct them if they are wrong and handle their reports.
