Why not? People shouldn't be joining these forums for likes or dislikes or trophies or any of that stuff, they join to interact with the community. It's not fair that because I'm not extremely lovable that I can't get a title which I probably deserve. Just add in the opposite trophies to the positive ones to make it fair for everyone.
Honestly, people who do wrong/negative actions should not be awarded with trophy points. Besides, you said it yourself- They're just virtual.
Then why shouldn't we allow rate abuse? Apparently they're not "just virtual" to most people on these forums.
Because rate abuse (Negative) leads to anger and rage and some people forget that ratings are just virtual. For positive, people will also get angry because one of their friends just spammed them likes and they also forget that they are just virtual
