DISCLAIMER: I am not trans-phobic; I am merely stating my opinion on this topic, but I have nothing against trans people. I'm creating this thread to understand others' opinions on the debate of having only two genders. My viewpoint: There are only two genders. Gender is what describes a person physically when they are born. They either have testosterone or estrogen. They either have a penis or a vagina. Therefore, the former is a male and the latter is a female. Gender is the physical aspect of what people are born with. When people think they are a different gender, that is a personal opinion of their gender. This is a mental aspect, not a physical aspect, which is what gender defines (it is a purely physical description). You can be a male but feel like a female. However, that is outside the boundaries of gender, so you cannot say that you are a female; you can only say that you are a male who feels like a female and therefore identifies as one. Gender does not account for personal feelings, only physical facts! If you feel you are different, you can feel different, but u cannot involve gender because gender isn't about your feelings, it's about the body you are born in. If you agree or disagree, please reply! I am really curious to know the opinions of everyone. EDIT: Yes, gender is a concept created by humans. And we humans decided that gender would describe one's physicality. Humans did not create gender to involve thoughts. Feeling female when you are male does not change your gender.
Why a sigh? Do you disagree with what I said? If so, please reply with what you believe and not a one word reply.
