No support. However while making a moderator application when you press the button to post it then a set of "what should you do" to test that they know the basic rules and general information about the server. Or make it on the profile page in an extras tab, but only able to do the test every month or two.

      Neutral.
There are multiple reasons to support this, however, there are too many reasons to not support this. I am going with Neutral because even if this was implemented, I do not think that it would be a problem, but at the same time, I do not think it would be very helpful since the current system seems to work fine.

( - for stated reasons, + for added reasons)
I've compared the reasons I've seen stated on this thread to further support my viewpoint, and as a summarized reference for future posts... if anyone actually bothers to read this.
(Idea credit to each poster of the idea... I'm not going to ping every person that posted on this thread .-.)

      Support:
      - Lessen promotions based on popularity
      - Moderators become better aware of the rules
      - Tests overall knowledge and understanding of rules and consequences
      - There used to be a test (proves the idea is plausible)
      - Assist in 'bringing out the truth in mods'
+ Discourage people who aren't serious about the position

      No Support:
      - Moderators are chosen by a committee
      - Moderators already receive training from a mentor and other staff for around a month
      - People can easily cheat, ruining the purpose of the test
      - Even with a test, moderators are people, and people still make mistakes (problems can be reported)
      - Moderators can always return to the guidelines to check, rather than remembering everything 100%
      - The test may disqualify potentially great moderators
      - The test was removed after being deemed unnecessary
      - Suggestion has already been denied...
+ A test cannot prepare a moderator for every possible situation, nor can mentoring, however, a mentor can help when a situation arises; a test cannot

      Side Note:
I think there is a valid point here^

      Neutral.

As a friend of many mods, they do not use the position for popularity. Even though, some might. :)
