We all highly respect you Pile and I hope you know that. When I go on KitPvP you are almost always there. I just wanted to acknowledge the fact that you are active and you deal with reports so fast. Keep doing these things and you will most definitely be on to a promotion soon ;).
Once again I cherish and respect your output highly This is exactly how many other servers operate as well. It is good Mineverse does the same.. However, the rate of which Apps are being accepted is inconsistent and abnormally less frequent. In the reply above, I made a rather large argument as to why the Mod applications can no longer be accepted whenever the staff so choose to accept. Rather, the apps are to be accepted based on a routine schedule. In the thread above, I provided a lot of strong arguments as to why this is an extremely important system that should be implemented. Not only will the problem of having the Team understaffed be lessened, but it'll overall make things much more organized and neater than the current setup. Understood school may prove to be cumbersome upon many, but this shouldn't be the sole factor to stop the possibilities of increasing the efficiency of the Staff on here. Yes, I understand its hard as many people on here have personal businesses to commit to. However, with the possible addition of more *committed* staff will come a lessening of this problem. This problem will still be present, yes, but it'll be nullified quite a decent amount. Once again, I thank you for the time you have taken to post your own input of this problem many have already exposed. You and the other staff members share the same opinion is seems. This being that its a fantasy to have staff online 24/7 across the server. You are in fact right, it is. But, if my suggestions were to be enforced, than the high rate of which rule-breakers have been plaguing this community will be practically void.
I also agree. Pile is one of the most prized staff members we have had to date. Yes, there are and were many other staff that are just as proficient as she is. But she ranks slightly above most with her extreme maturity, efficiency, and commitment she has given to this community. Three vital things not many can maintain.
Oh, theres a problem though... yeah, we need more staff, but quality over quantity right? Staff in higher ranks should be able to get more commands like being invisible. You know, the basics. "Retired Staff" isn't really nessessary. We don't remember comrades from the internet dude, we remember them in our hearts. Think about all a staff did in his time working in mineverse. All of that is already a reward. But hey, its okay. (btw much of them already have well-known already hehe)
Not necessarily as proven. The method of this "quality over quantity" has been in place for two years now. The server has grown since 2013, and it needs more staff. This method has been proven to be most insufficient to quell the boundless waves of rule breakers. The server needs to see change to not only benefit we the players, but also the staff members themselves. I respect your opinion, however.
Well... I did agree with having more staff. But we need to ensure they won't break the rules. Its pretty simple to abuse... /ban (some annoying player) (random reason: e.g. you like potato) Click ban (Same player) on forums Repeat for the player's friends. or just do /ban * See how easy it is? Come on. We don't want this to happen.
Did you read my section of how new staff shall be trained? Because that section completely declares the possibility of such things moot.
"I heavily recommend a new “Trainee” staff rank of sorts. While I am not heavily acknowledged of the training system on here, a trainee rank for the newly appointed staff members would prove very beneficial for many reasons. Newly recruited staff members would be given a training process of which they learn the different commands that are required to staff properly. After their training trail ends, they are given very basic staffing commands (/kick, /mute, etc), and must prove themselves truly fit for being a Mod." Trainees aren't given the commands such as "Ban." Only mods and higher-ups can do such things. Helpers are only given the basics, and must prove themselves staff material through efficiency and helpfulness. Once again, I thank you for your opinion and support
1. if they did ban someone for 'random reasons', admins could just check the logs.. 2. /ban * don't work, you gotta type in the player username. if they did ban all the players they wouldn't stay banned forever anyways because mods only have permission to /tempban.
Apart of the server I was on, you had to fill out the players name and ban reason on a chart before banning them. That way it made tracking the temp banning, and banning of players more traceable per say. Along with *evidence* of course. However, only staff above the helper rank could do such things.
I think the rank/title would show appreciation for time worked. So many times staff get worn out and resign. Worked a hard run, but in the end go back to being a regular member like all of us. I can tell you first hand how hard that transition can be. Having experienced this twice over on this particular server, it's hard to know your place. Hard to figure out where you fit in, and an overwhelming feeling of loss. Loss of control over situations. Loss of permissions. Loss of respect. Loss of "staff family". You and I have seen it over and over again. A hard working staff member after working him/herself to the bone steps down, and it's only a matter of time before they act out in defiance or frustration. I feel this is brought on by the transition back to regular member and I feel that trasition never really happens. Why? They aren't "regular members" they are ex-staff. Some still highly respected in opinion, close to a year after they've stepped down. They deserve/want recognition, and I think the title would help. (just my opinion)
In addtion; On the MV *server* itself, they should at the very least receive a "Friend" rank of sorts. :p Or a free donation rank of sorts.
Support. Especially the trainee rank thing because a lot of servers do that and it seems to work out well.
so much support, skyblock is constantly full of spammers and scammers and some of the language I've seen in creative is absurd but there are rarely any mods on when I'm on (with the exception of 12323emily and NoobCupcake and a few others)
