Nothing you can do the mods have different time zones and they have lives they cant play video games all day. If you can i'd suggest going for Moderator.
The "Mods have lives" Thing is so fking old. Like seriously. If they had lives, they wouldn't have signed up for this position.
Well honestly things do happen in our personal lives. That's acceptable. But when that is used as a constant excuse to evade your job, not so much. That how you end up fired and on the streets 'IRL.' Let me ask you, do you wish to help rid MV of this problem?
I dont wish anything, as this server has gone downhill. There's no hope for this staff team if they constantly use that excuse.
I think the "Trainee" rank was not a very good idea just in my opinion, but I do support this is very well written.
Many could disagree. Honestly it was quite hard for me to grasp the full lack of organization and ranks that make up MV's staff team. It is unheard of personally to have just one dominant staff rank throughout the server. Every successful and prosperous MC server out there has more than three active staff ranks. Why is MV the only exception here? Clearly, having just the "Mod" as the sole rank is not working too well, if you have joined the server recently. It is constantly attacked by rule breakers daily, and without a fully effective and coordinated staff team to rid them. A trainee rank, which is actually very common, would be very useful in many ways. Not only would it alleviate the owners mistrust with appointing new staff members, but it would also require these players to prove themselves worthy as being Mods, etc. One of the main complains on here is that some of the MV staff do not do their jobs properly. While I for one don't entirely agree to this opinion, the addition of a trainee rank would also resolve this issue as well in time.
Well, you see heres the thing. The MV staff team as of currently have been very well picked by Cypriot. Im not saying the staff team is perfect, but he made a few good choices these past few months. When Cypriot chooses his staff members he doesn't do it very often. The reason being, hes looking for the right person. May some don't know is once you are accepted into the staff team they show you how to do things and you have other staff members there to help you if you have any questions. If Cypriot adds the "Trainee" rank I think he might soon realize that he can now just accept random applications because when they get in-game they're limited to what they can do like /mute, /kick, and etc.
As far as I'm concerned, I rarely see any mods on during my visits. Why else do you think the problem of MV being filled with rule breakers remains? Why else do you think many others including staff themselves have agreed with my arguments here? Why else is MV in a steady decline, and it's staff team remains overwhelmed with opposition? If the staff team was effective and well coordinated/organized, then this thread wouldn't be in existence. Nor would this thread have gained so much support and momentum from staff and players alike.
Cyps method of irregularly accepting staff apps and retaining mistrust with the community has rather cost both him, and the staff alike. It's clearly no longer working. The staff team now can merely keep up with the heavy opposition it faces on a daily basis. Yet you say this method of accepting a few apps every few months is acceptional? The owners have to realize the dangers of this prominent issue. The further this issue remains neglected, the worse it gets. The worse it gets, the larger the decline this community will see. This is like having the CEO of Microsoft hand pick a few, good quality employees monthly. While it sounds good, the company would soon become overwhelmed and understaffed. Just as MV has become. Also, those whom Cyp hand picks specially sometimes turn out to not be the staff he expecting them to be. Overall, this method of irregular staff app acceptions, a lack of ranks, and a lack of an overall effective staff team has and will prove costly. Just as it has been already.. - S
Mineverse went from being a 3K server, to a community that can barely push 1K. Has it ever struck a thought in anyone's mind as to why this may be? And no, don't blame it on just school. I commend the staff and owners alike for their committed services to this community, but things need to change. The way the entire staff team is operated and run by is no longer working as it should, fact. The method of accepting a few apps every few months or so is no longer proving effective, fact. Every successful and prosperous MC community retains more than just one mere staff rank, fact. How long is it shall we wait to see this problem unattended to fully? Until MV's population drops further? This is a dire issue not to be taken lightly. If your server lacks proper maintenance, guess what? It'll see a decline of sorts. This is not the staff teams fault, nor am I blaming the owners honestly. But, we all need to open our eyes to these sorts of issues and realize things have to change sooner or later.. And before its too late also. - S
