While playing on Survival today, I was watching over the chat only to see that there was a problem in the Nether: in some areas, you can place down blocks and mine that are unclaimed. In other areas(which are not claimed), you cannot place down blocks and mine. It's relatively simple. That place in the first picture is the nether equivalent of the overworld spawn. Since you can't build in "spawn", you can't build in that region of the nether.
Emailing [email protected] with this issue should get you more notice since Cypriot usually doesn't respond to most threads :P
I was thinking that in the first place, but there was bridges and stairs all around the area, so I dismissed the idea. I'll try in a bit ^^
Were there bridges and stairs around the area or in the area? Also, the nether may be a bit buggy. From the time I've seen you, I would assume you know about the nether portal incident at spawn. When entering the portals, you went to a protected area that somehow was griefed in the nether. In addition, there was a certain block, and when entered, teleported you to the end. How it got there in the first place, I do not know.
In the area, and yes, I was there for the portal incident. The area that you went to when going into one of those portals was different than the area that I was shown. When looking around, this "new" area seemed to be larger than the spawn/protected area.
