Hello again! So today my friend suggested that on survival (and I guess it would work for factions too), there could be a timeout on claims and claimed chests, if the owner doesn't come on for ages (this could be anything from a month to 2 months). The reason behind this is because often you will come across a claim or claimed chest owned by 'X' and you will do "/seen X" and see that they haven't been online for several months! I believe this should be different for shops as other players still come and use the shops, but this is just an idea given to me by bubbascal on Survival today. Thanks again! -Alien
Thank-you. As I say, this is my friend's idea. Can you tell me the details of your thoughts about it please?
What if people need a break or if thier computer breaks? No support (I suggested this a while back got told it will never be implemented).
Hi, I'm the person Alien had suggested this for. I didn't want to make a account as I thought that I'd never use it again. I do remember making a account here perhaps a year ago however.. Anyways, allow me to give a counter argument for this. v You bring up a good point, however, this can be easily fixed. If their computer breaks , they can simply go on a library computer or a friend's computer or their parents computer to renew the time limit. This is even easier if the time limit is a month or so. And even if they need a monthly break, they can just log on for a few seconds to renew the timer. Problem solved. And the main idea is to give away the items of people who have left the server. If people can renew their timer that easily, those items will never go to someone who might use them.
What, so people have to go out of their way to use somebody else's computer? What if they are the only person they know who has a computer? Also you can not downlaod things onto a computer at a libary. Plus it does not solve the probelm of when people need a break or if someone gets ground.
The chances of this happening are quite unlikely, almost everyone has a computer nowadays. I have my own computer while my parents have their own, for starters. Well, at my library, you can download stuff. This does solve the problem of when people need a break, actually. Even if it's a 1 month break. Just log in for a few seconds and the timer will be reset. I wonder what would cause a 1 month suspension from computers...? Anyways, we could add a sub-forum requesting the admins to extend their personal timer for them. Kids might be able to use their phones or a friend's phone for this. Honestly, it's not hard to imagine creative solutions for these problems.
So you can afford a laptop.. but not a smartphone? O_o Either way, it's a solution to some. Think positive :D
They may not be trusted by their parents to have a smart phone, or they may not have their own pc or laptop.
I'm actually not trusted by my parents to have a smartphone, but there are other ways to get the few seconds required to restart the timer even if you're grounded. Don't forget, 1 month is a example. What if it's 2 months or something?
