First off, as stated in the title and the section, this is a suggestion, so I do not want any flame wars or for this to be locked because I "made a new template", this is in no way an official thread, just something I'd like to do for applications, hopefully you agree, but if you don't please do not argue with others or be rude about your own opinion. Personal Portion: IGN: Age(This does not matter, so please be honest): Timezone: Some things about yourself to include(So that we can better understand the type of person you are, not just about what you'd do as a Moderator, this is a chance to fully express yourself and show us what you're like): Moderation: What are some qualities that would make you a good staff member? Why would you be useful to the staff team? What can you bring to the mineverse community/staff team? Why should you become a Moderator, what is your motivation?(Answer both) What is your previous experience for Moderation? Server/Forums: How long have you been playing Mineverse(We would prefer you to have played a while before applying, as to ensure you have given yourself time to get to know the community, but please remain honest)? How much time can you dedicate(per day) to moderating the server, as well as the forums?(Include both schedules/answers) Do you currently have any infractions on any of our servers? Preference: Which 2 of our servers would you like to moderate, if accepted? What timezones can you cover most? Do you have skype/teamspeak(Teamspeak is not required, but preferred.): I hope you all like this template and the idea for it, if you have any questions/arguments please state them below in a respectful fashion.
I literally just wrote this, if I've copied any of the questions I'm sorry, but maybe they're common for a reason.
I feel that there should be less questions, to see what the applicants do with their applications for "extra info." You can kind learn a lot of things from people depending on what/how they write things they are not obligated to write.
I feel like an application should allow you to express yourself openly, as some people don't quite know you can stray from the questions a bit.
The template that is present now is good enough. People do not seem to realise that the template is changeable anyway and you can add all this anyway so there technically is not "limits" as long as you have the basic information required. However why not make this a guide as an alternate way to format a mod app and explain a bit better, give an example piece.
Support, I'm only wondering about skype, it isn't really needed or is it? Like, some of the players that may be applying for Moderator and may not have skype.
Love it! Gives a focus toward the person themselves. Makes it seem like they are a priority and they care about you.
I agree, skype and teamspeak should not be considered in any way. The focus for moderators should the the forums and the server. I have never once needed to really moderate teamspeak and not a lot of people ask for my help off skype. Its not going to make you a better moderator if you have access to teamspeak or skype.
The goal of those questions wasn't to make you a better moderator, but having a spot in the staff chat would be nice if you have any queries about bans or commands, etc. would it not?
I feel Skype is a vital part of communication between the staff members. That's just my opinion, though.
Debatable. If you are talking about skype chats mods make then I have not been part of them since d-ninja left and found them not helpful at all. I feel like mods here would be able to teach you enough if you are struggling and are contactable by forums. Is the question going to impact on being chosen? or to show people how they can contact you.
I dont know the inner workings of mv mods, but i dont use skype to communicate to mods for important things, its always the forums.
