Hello Everyone, I am here to discuss/suggest moderators. As I have seen in .NET and .ORG, they have many different types of moderators. As in, Trial Moderators, Forum Moderators (To deal with reports, and yet other things), Email Moderators, and if trusted enough, Super Moderators. I find it very affective as we can have a lot more moderators with many different jobs in many different ways. This can be very affective as jobs will be spread out more evenly and jobs will get done faster and more efficiently. This will also bring more positions into play and not have just one position open for the run and have a tons of players going for the same position. This part will help Cyp choose people a bit easier (As my understanding, the mod apps will go up frequently though). Overall, it will improve the server and community and help Cyp, in somewhat, better ways.
I can't sleep so I'll put my input into this. It is better for the in game mods to deal with reports as they are the ones who ban and look at the evidence. Trial mods are a thing here, we just have 0 Super mods are global mods, we don't need mods that have more commands than the ones already. Tl;dr No support.
Excuse me? We don't need global mods? We need more globals more than anything. Mods that are active only get 2 gamemodes. Whereas non active mods don't even moderate the server. Sure we already have globals, but not alot. TL;DR Support.
I've never seen a trial mod the whole time I have been on mineverse.. Otherwise support because I just want to be a forum mod not a ingame mod.
Trial mods are not a thing. I know this because when Cyp first promoted DJ, the first time, he only promoted him on Prison, sort of as his 'trial'. He didn't say that global mods weren't needed, lol. Global mods are active too btw, although I agree with you that we need more. I'm pretty sure Cyp has already stated that there is no use in having Forum mods when he can promote in game mods and kill 2 bird with one stone. :s Good luck though. As for this suggestion, I don't really see the need. Also, .net doesn't have forum mods as far as I'm aware, and it doesn't have as many types of mods as it seems. The forums for .net are also the forums for .org, therefore they have both the ranks for both the servers. Realistically, they only have one extra rank, and that being Trial mod which isn't necessary here.
XenForo isn't a difficult software. New recruits usually need a day to learn the buttons. Mistakes are often made in the first 3. Which is fine. Trial-Moderator isn't really a thing. Cyp may have doubts about you and give you a "trial" period, but there isn't an official title/section for this.
As stated above, we have plenty of moderators. I don't see how spreading them out with different ranks would make them more effective. As far as I'm concerned, forum moderators are not needed. All current mods (including myself) have forum permissions in every section. We can handle anything you need handled in-game and on the forums. Therefor, I see no use for forum mods and trial mods.
http://www.mineverse.com/threads/forum-and-server-rules.838/ Also Dj's Promo was only prison, not as trial, but because he wasn't active enough on KitPvP
You're showing a moderator the rules? Quite ironic. I'm not even mad about that. What I meant by that is no moderator on Mineverse has had a ''trial moderator'' title. It's never been something official.
I'm not showing you the rules. I was just showing you my source. Sorry if I offended you in any way. I was also showing it to everyone, not just you.
I'm fully aware of the original post. Just thought I'd state my own opinion and add additional information, like you are doing. I'm going to agree that helpers or trial moderators usually sit on their behind all day. They aren't effective enough.
