Island Level: This is pretty straight forward and easy to add. This doesn't make sense in why it is not implemented. I mean its skyblock... Right? Not having this command makes us not able to complete a core set of challenges. I and others would like to be able to compete to be the top and complete challenges. This is yet, another way to attract new players. God for Gods: This has been wanted for ages by all gods. It doesn't make sense why this is not added to the gods perms. If you think it would take away the purpose of titan... give them another command such as /nick or something. New Spawn: I know noob plans to add one soon but in the mean time I am still going to suggest it. I know for a fact that a couple of my friends have made spawn submissions and I hope they were taken into consideration. I think skyblock has a higher potential then just a few small islands merged together. It may be time for a fresh start. Server Shop: I am not for or against this idea as it has ups and downs but I will say I have seen new members confused in which shop to go to. My friends have begged me to make this suggestion so I thought, why not? Nether: No.. No.. No.. Before you even say anything there is a twist to this idea. Anyone over the island level of 500 should only be allowed to go. (If they add island level...lol)Having random people going would not be a good thing. But adding this suggestion would certainly not bring any harm, only good. New skyblock island features: If your in a taiga biome, spawn with a darn taiga tree. This would bring variations of new featues and would be awesome. It would be a one of a kind experience. These are just some basic ideas that can be elaborated on. Up above are just some simple observations of mine, being a senior skyblock player.
Yea, definitely time for a new spawn, I look at all the spawns of the other skyblock servers noob and cyp have owned or worked on, and then I see ours. :eh
Island lvl doesn't really matter, and due to MV's large amount of players, it's probably disabled for a reason. God mode is a Titan perk. Titan has to be distinguished from God as it is $150 more. New spawn. If you already know one is coming, what's the point of suggesting it? Nether. There's hellblock for that. The "lvl 500 islands only" idea won't work either. Server shop. I guess there could be one, but it's better for players to barter and trade then for a server shop to drain cash from the economy unless there is too much. New island features. People will get annoyed if they want a certain tree, blah blah. Sb is meant to start off the SAME for everyone.
Island level can actually be an inspiration to play the game. You could compete to be the top or simply set a goal for yourself. Other then that and not being able to complete 3 main challenges, id say its useless as well. Oh and why does hellblock have it then? Doesn't make any sense. Like I said above. I know this would invade the point of titan but there could easily be a new command for titans. Kit boost, ability to /nick, or something else. There is a list of hundreds of bukkit commands to choose from. A new spawn is not finalized just yet, there have just been rumors of noobcrew getting a builder for this reason. I think people should know that this idea has been and probably will come to the table. Hellblock is soly based in the nether and nothing else. On the other hand skyblock is more popular and has a higher potential for new things. There could really be no harm to this idea. Island level can be shifted to be used as a sort of road block for people under the island level needed, speaking of nether portals. Like I said Im not for or against the idea of the servershop but It could definitely not do any harm. Just an extra way to receive items. With the island spawning thing, I said it could easily be changed. This would make it totally unique then to any old skyblock server. And I don't understand why someone would get annoyed with a tree, whatever. Thats what we want, unique, right?
I've been a mod on a sb server before, and I know that the nether could be a core duping place. On some versions of the skyblock plugin, I KNOW that Island level is broken. As I said, there is most likely a reason this is disabled, and for you to say "it can easily be added" is pretty close minded. As for the island spawn thingy, I'll repeat this. Let's say Bob wants a.. Taiga biome, and he can't get one. Wouldn't he get annoying? Isn't it easier just to introduce saplings in kit sapling or something? I don't agree with most of these ideas, and I find it childish that people enjoy disagreeing with others opinions. Doing that really inspires people to post their opinions, good work MV! (See the sarcasm?) You asked me why I said no, I told you.
I agree that skyblock nether could be a duping place but you have to take that risk whenever you add the nether in a game mode. Noobcrew was on and said he didn't add it because It causes lag... But that still shouldn't stop us from trying. I agree with the kit idea. Good, a compromise. I respect that you disagree with these ideas but there are others that do and may.
I 100% Agree With This I play Skyblock just about Every single Day and I would Like a way to Acually Finish challenges -.-
Island Level: Unfortunately as some people have mentioned, this is likely disabled due to resource issues and possible lag on the server. The way that island level is calculated in most of these plugins, is that it will start from the lowest level (0) on up to the skycap (256) and per layer, measure each block to see what type of block it is. Once it knows the type of block, it compares it against a list of internal items to assign a point value to that block. It is not unusual for many plugins to have a block like cobble count as 1/100 of a level. This means if we assume this is the block worth the least, once we get our total points for the 100x100x256 area, we then have to divide it by 100 to get the final island level. All of those calculations can be expensive. God for Gods: I can't say I have strong feelings here one way or the other. I really do not feel that /god is gamebreaking one way or the other. Titans still have /enchant which is far more useful that /god for Skyblock New Spawn / Server Shop: I would love to see a new spawn for Skyblock as well. I have also lumped this idea in with the server shop as I feel a server shop is a good idea as well. I believe that the new spawn could therefore contain a small server shop. The prices for this shop should be high, and any items the server would "buy" from players should be very low. The goal of a server shop should be a place to acquire items as a last resort, with the player economy being the main way to acquire items. This being said, if no one has a Ghast Tear for example, you should be able to buy one somewhere at least. (Challenges require it) Nether: This unfortunately is a tough one as well. I believe there is value in being able to go to the nether on skyblock, but the obvious duping concerns are a very real thing. If the nether to were to be enabled, I would almost recommend it be a donor perk at the God/Titan levels. Hopefully donors that committed to MineVerse, would be less likely to risk a ban by duping or engaging in illegal behavior. Addition Idea - More Challenges (Bypass island level and nether need) As Island level and nether may indeed never happen, I would offer an alternative approach. Most of the Skyblock plugins have the ability to create additional challenges in the YML or in a separate XML file. I would love the see the Staff take the time to craft up some additional challenges (possibly start a thread asking for community input) and implement them in Skyblock. Oftentimes you can set which level of difficulty these quests appear in. So currently the "Master" challenges cannot be unlocked due to no nether and island level. If new challenges were introduced, you could complete those instead to give you the pre-requisite number of quests to move on to the next difficulty.
