This is a guide im making with some tips for making a good shop on skyblock. I am the owner of warp icecream so I want to share some things I found successful when I made my shop. Here is a few things you can do to make/improve your shop. Choosing a design and layout. The first step to creating a shop is to build it. Choose an appropriate size for what you are selling. Remember to build in an area of your island where you can easily expand or add parts on to your shop. Think ahead to what you are going to sell, so you can organize the different sections of your shop. To make it easier for costomers to find your items, I would recommend putting all related items in sections. For example in my shop I have tree related items all along one wall (logs saplings and leaves). Then I have all mob drops down stairs in one spot and so on. You can put all your items in one big room or maybe have different rooms for different types of items. Also don't forget to create a place where your costomers will spawn when they come to your warp. If your not sure how you should setup your shop look around at other successful shops for inspiration. Choosing what items to sell. You will also need to decide what items you will sell. Remember you can add more later (The 2nd floor of my shop wasn't always there). Sell valuable items that people want to buy. I see a lot of beginners shops that only sell overpriced mob drops and maybe a few crops. Sell useful things that people will want to buy like wood, or iron. Prices. This is one of the most important things to do while making a shop. If you make too high of prices nobody will buy your stuff. If you make to low of prices people will take advantage and your whole shop will be out of stock before you know it. Don't just guess at prices look at other successful shops to get a good idea of what your stuff is worth. Don't forget to look at multiple shops too. You will also need to decide weather your shop will just be a buy shop or and buy/sell shop like mine. In a buy shop you need to restock all your items. Usually these shops are more expensive because the owner has to work on it all by himself. If you decide to make a buy and sell shop this means people can sell items to you and also buy them. In order to make a profit you will need to charge more for your buy price than your sell price in order to make a profit. This still requires you to restock yourself but not as much. Remember to charge a price that you can keep up with. For example I sell eggs for $1 per 16 which is extremely cheap. Because they are really cheap people buy a lot but because I have a big egg farm I can keep up with this. Most people don't have an egg farm though so they can only keep items in stock if they charge more money. How to actually make the chest shop. Decorating your shop will help your shop a lot. If people see your shop looks nice there are better chances of them staying and looking around. If your shop is just a cobble room people will assume your prices are bad and leave. Setting a warp. Another important part of making your shop is setting a warp. You want to set a warp that people will easily remember. You can make it based on your in game name or just something you make up. I wouldn't make your warp your exact name. Would you remember my warp after you've only been there once if it was Warp Ilikeicecream83? No probably not so I shortened it to something simple that people will remember easily. Warp Icecream. I saw somebody with about 8 random numbers as their warp once most people didn't even bother to go there. Another thing you don't want to do is make your warp too long. People are lazy and yes they won't come if they don't feel like typing in the whole thing. Advertising. Unfortunately people won't come to your warp unless they know it exists. To get people to come advirtise a few words in chat. Don't spam or be obnoxious. Just once every 10 minutes or so is good.
