The Explorer challenge in skyblock says u need a map, compass, clock. Thats easy enough, but it says u need 64 netherrack, 16 soul sand, and a ghast tear. On a normal Minecraft world, that's all easy. On this Skyblock server, the nether is unaccessible (and yes, I have a portal). How in the world are you supposed to obtain Nether-related items (Nether Mob drops, Netherrack, and Soul Sand)?
