On skyblock each player can have only one island but some people found a workaround this limitation by using multiple accounts. This wouldn't be such a problem if they weren't abusing it by staying on 24/7 with all their accounts connected simultaneously. On skyblock there are 4 accounts (1 person) that they always are logged on the server, if you log on, they will be there. This player has one main island and at least three more with afk farms. So far I have found that 2 players are using this method and have at least 8 accounts together, maybe they have more but I haven't found them yet. All the screenshots in this topic are alternative accounts of these 2 persons, the names have been blanked for privacy reasons but they are available and will be given if it is deemed necessary by the mods. This tactic is wasting server resources by keeping many islands loaded and is causing lag for everyone. If 10 people follow this method, they load the server with 40 more islands which is nearly the half capacity of the server and the rest of the 90 people have to deal with the lag that is caused by having 130 islands loaded. If 20 people follow this method should the rest of us quit because they want 80 islands just for themselves? Of course the excuse that is going to be used in this situation by them is within the lines of: “Oh no, it's not me in the alternative account, it's my mom, father, sister, aunt, friend, cat, dog, long lost brother, etc” but from my experience, two completely lifeless people on a server of one hundred, is something that can be expected, but eight lifeless people that coincidentally log on at the same time too, are suspiciously too many. A simple kick to those who are AFK won't work since there are AFK pools and clients with anti AFK and auto reconnect, so what I propose is an IP filter that won't allow simultaneous connections from the same IP address or simply a rule that would make having multiple accounts logged on simultaneously a bannable offense.
Support In addition to the already mentioned server resources, things like this can be detrimental to a server economy. If a player is AFKing a large set of farms continuously, they are in essence pumping hundreds or thousands of specific items into the economy that can lead to inflation, etc. In addition to even that, things such as voter keys across multiple accounts resorts in situations where one player may between their accounts, be able to amass several thousand dollars per day just from AFKing and using the voter keys. This was an issue back when I played more, but as I have been inactive lately, I cannot say how much it may be impacting the economy or server itself now. Cheers, Melgrath
