We made that mistake on skyblock with the red sand epidemic. The good players turned it in hoping for a refund of some kind. People like Butfa and I and several others who had spent between 10k and 800k (out of a max of 1mil server cap per char) buying up the red sand under the assumption it was rare. The players that started the duping and made hundreds of thousands, or in a few cases over 1m in profit or got other rares in trades, went unpunished with the exception of speedycuber. They didn't even have to turn over all the red sand they made or had placed on their island (killer, markouts and crew). Another slap in the face was the fact they bought all our sand for $10 each and sold it back to us as red sand at 50k each, then 20k, then 10k, 5k, 2k, 500. The best part is a few weeks later red sand is suddenly legally available to purchase from banana's/dark's shop. People again went back to buying all our sand and duping more red sand and reselling it for 200-500 each for profit again. When I say people went back to making it and selling it, I mean both new players and those original duping culprits. The market is flooded again and it is nearly impossible to tell who has duped and who has bought from what was a seemingly abundant supply at /warp servershop. I might be new to the forums and don't know your relationship with the owners, but.... Besides that awesome experience that set a disturbing precedent for Skyblock and was really let down for a lot of skyblock regulars and heavy donators, I have to question how sound your advice is. I assumed this thread was a joke, but instead of seeing a JK or anything of the sort, you seem to be validating the trade as legit and defending the rarity of your item and its real money value. The newly posted set of rules here on mineverse does not state that buying items that may have been duped is illegal, nor does it say we are required to turn in the items if the authenticity is in question. It does, however, specifically address what you are doing: http://www.mineverse.com/threads/official-mineverse-rules.57964/ If this is just a troll I would suggest you guys make that point clear sooner than later. On skyblock in the last week we have had several retired players come back from a 1 year or 2 year retirement and auction their rares for real money values, and a few who have come back trying to auction their titan minecraft accounts. We are being told that this is illegal and against the rules on the Skyblock server, but this thread has made it to page 2 and includes a MOD response. Similar to the red sand example, this can easily confuse people into thinking that the rules don't apply to everyone or are simply not enforced. Forgive my long winded multi-faceted rant, but between some terrible football games on TV and the server crashing every 5 minutes, I have time to express some of our mounting frustrations.
As you can see, it is a trade for virtual currency, not real money. I am allowed to do this, as many others before me have. I follow each pre existing rule. This is the real egg, I have proof beyond you. It's great to have a phony egg, but no one will care for a fake, as it has been proven over history. This is not a joke. If you would like a business inquiry however, please pm me. Otherwise, please don't teach me the rules.
