Upon entering the Mineverse community, I've discovered a lot of things, and noted quite a few differences between this server and others I've spent time on, like skyblock. One of these differences is quite depressing to me. Excuse me if you think I'm wrong, but what I've noticed is a great bitterness between most players and the mods. Every time I turn around, a new report on a moderator is created, and over half of the time, it's a report with little to no evidence, or a report made for no good reason. I'm going to bring up skyblock, and how our mods interact with our playerbase. We occasionally have staff reports, which is how it should be. Keeps us on our toes, let's us see how we're doing, and occasionally brings actual issues to light. The reports aren't malicious usually, just an occasional thing. On skyblock, senior players, new players, and mods all get along. On Mineverse, I've seen a great bitterness between players and mods. There are altogether way too many staff reports, and they aren't meant for the staff to improve. You guys are out for blood, and by that I mean demotion. I think some of the senior members think they could do so much better than the mods, so they report them for every little thing. Is that really how you want this community to work? Mods were chosen for a reason. If they don't deal with any reports for two days, does that mean they should be demoted? No. Put yourself in their shoes. You're new, you're nervous. And then you get reported 3 times or more in 2 days? You act upset when staff leave, when honestly I don't see how they deal with the stress of you guys blasting on them every single day, knowing if they make a mistake or go inactive for a couple days, they'll come back to so much hatred. For example, @Taylor is a newer moderator. She was ASKED to moderate here, without having played much. That was Cyp's decision, she's an amazing mod, and she's learning how to mod MV incredibly well. Her inactivity she has apologized for, explained multiple times, and more, and yet she continues to be reported for it constantly. She wouldn't have been chosen if she couldn't do the job. You all keep calling @kitkat6605910 lazy, without knowing her situation. If she has exams coming up, she needs to study, and real life should ALWAYS trump games. Give her a break, try to put yourself in her situation, think how you would feel. @PopIs_MyLife has only been a mod for 4 days, and he's been slammed with reports. It's ridiculous. If I had been reported in my first 4 days, I would have died, and I made worse mistakes then him. He's doing fine, upholding the rules, and if you think he shouldn't be mod, keep your rude opinions to yourself. @HipsterChick has been reported for the most obvious joke, and being an "unhappy mod". These are just malicious reports, there is NO rule against that, it's a reasonless report just to cause trouble. They try their best, they really do, and you guys don't thank them enough in my opinion. Does it make them want to try to help you guys when all they ever get is "you shouldn't be a mod" or "you suck, be more active". Mods are people too, not robots without emotions. I admire the new mods going through so much hate and so many reports, I remember when I first got T-Mod on skyblock... If I was treated like they're being treated, it would crush me. tl;dr? Stop the useless reports, try to appreciate the mods and what they do for you, and stop being bitter that you aren't one. Thanks for everything you do moderators, keep up the great work. ~Gemma.
AMEN. And kitkat. They're continously bashing on her because she hasn't done reports or has been a bit inactive :/
The reason Moderators are getting reported is because they aren't reaching up to the expectations that the community thinks they will, or that they should. It isn't a game, it's work. Some of the Moderators don't realize that and take it for granted.
But if the communities expectations are entirely unrealistic, what then? And should they really jump on them for every little thing?
Aw, I'm sorry that I didn't say something you would like to hear. All hail the great jarroyrateabuses!
I couldn't have said this better. All of the people making the reports have no idea what's truly going on and think that if they became moderators they would do reports 24/7. There is so much going on that you don't see, mineverse is very complex, there are many servers that you have to learn the rules for, etc. You're reporting for inactivity but that are in training. Learning the ropes. Making the dumb reports doesn't help their confidence either. Real inactivity would not be doing a single thing for a week or more unless excused. Also, we don't have to tell you players of we are going to be inactive for irl things, we keep each other notified and updated. And all of the "I could do better of I was a mod" resentment Is crap. If the admin and owner thought you could then they would have promoted you, but they didn't. So cut the hate, play the game. It is after all a game. This isn't life. It's an escape and entertainment. Some people... Geeze.
