I would just like to start out by saying that I have absolutely no idea if this has ever been suggested or not, but I truly believe it should be. That being said, /report would be VERY helpful if it was implemented. If you don't know what /report is, basically, and I'm only going to say this once, you type /report [playername], and it automatically reports them to either any online mods or anticheat, and they will inspect the player closer. ALSO ! y'all needa make the server compatible with 1.14 / 1.13 lol im tired of getting banned
exactly. personally, id give it maybe a 15-30 sec cool down. not such a wait, but enough as to where it is indeed not spammed. also, for each account, you can only report a person once.
Neutral, it can easily be abused and it's no different really to asking a mod who is in game or discord.
It really is different. I've been in-game pretty much all day today, and have only seen Prim & Freak on. Maybe- I'm trippin? I get it, I was mod way back too, I know how busy you guys are, but this is something that will help the players when you cannot make it onto the server. We shouldn't have to rely strictly on you guys to come on and ban hackers, and whatnot. There's already an anticheat lol, but guess what? It barely works... I feel like if there was a command (/report), making it to where the anticheat focuses on certain players, the server would be A LOT cleaner.
I'm not ranting, and it kinda, most-definitely is not required, BUT, it should be something that the players know is there, and that they can use. Like I said, mods are not always on, therefor, there should be something that is.
Easy fix for that. + Cooldown timers +One report against a specific person in a 30 minute time limit Just brainstorming, but there are easy ways to negate abuse. Devs have made it happen so many times on this server.
Support. I see some people arguing that it could easily be abused, however if that were to be an issue, alongside this suggested being implemented, there can also be punishments for those abusing it and so on. This could be 'VERY' useful as you stated as a lot of people for example don't have good enough equipment etc etc to record or screenshot certain issues. Sure you will get those who will abuse it, but the reports (I am sure) will be looked into regardless.
Support. It is easier for both the players and the mods and when it comes to trolling I dont see the difference between this and just messaging a mod.
It would not hurt (much) to implement this, but... People's opinions on what are hacks vary, and, especially for Infection with its not-so-fantastic hit detection, lag/glitching can easily be mistaken for anti-knockback. Or rather a more common scenario would be /report ing someone you think hacks, but maybe they don't. Trolling has to be clearly defined here, as anyone can claim "but he hacks, I wasn't trolling when I /report ed him" or vice versa - if the person was trolling, but claims he wasn't. How would we know who's trolling or not? And from there, how do we decide who to punish?
It would need to be longer, you can send in 2-4 reports a minute with that cool down, and there are multiple hackers online at once in most cases. You can report one ingame but not the other, or you would need to wait. Cool down would need to be much higher, and like @SSMH said lag or bad hit detection could lead to false reports, and again people trolling. I think it should stay to forums and discord, but if it’s implemented make it around 2 minutes or more of a cool down.
I like what Gb stated, with notifying the mod on discord and all that, and I would like to go back with what @RentPvP said, with some people not being able to record as great as others with having either bad internet, or bad equipment, so on and so forth. A lot of times when players record and report, there are noticeable fps drops, and/or just horrible quality to their videos. SS, It is indeed true that people mistake lag for hacks, especially on certain servers such as Infection, but a lot of people ALSO mistake hacks for lag, and having this command would strictly notify the mod/mods, so they can see with their own eyes. you feel me ? i like the way u think gb
