I just wanted to see if anyone else viewed posts like these the way I do: I most commonly see post farming and/or useless posts on moderator applications & suggestions. Personally, I think any post that just says "Support", "No support", or "Neutral" is pointless. Unless you have actual useful feedback that can contribute to the thread, there is a rating for each one of those. Am I the only one that thinks people shouldn't reply to a thread if that's all they're going to say? The fact that there's actually a character limit that you have to bypass in order to just say "Support" should indicate that you really don't need to post that unless you have more to add on to it. p.s. the most annoying one is "neutral, reasons stated". I mean, that doesn't help the applicant out at all... Like c'mon. (@Durt actually also made a thread like this before but it's inactive now)
auzzi was being sarcastic not actually "no supporting". this isn't a suggestion, there isn't anything to no support.
This is a discussion thread meant to discuss this issue. Not sure why you guys are posting "support" and "no support". She isn't asking for your support. She is wanting to discuss an issue that keeps happening on moderator applications. Please don't troll.
Another off topic post from you. Lovely. I've removed your permission to post on this thread. Please feel free to read our rules on off topic posting.
Oh god what I find annoying on most Suggestion threads is when they go "No support, sounds stupid." THAT makes me rage. Why do they feel the need to say it sounds stupid... And also, when people on mod apps reply to each person that says "support" as soon as they say it, so they end up fetting like 20 messages from that in their mod app.
I have thought this for a long time, and you hit the nail on the head... I think that comments just saying ''No Support'' or ''Support'' just for a pretty little trophy and number should be deleted. I mean, if you're not gonna give any information on how the applicant / person suggesting could do better, use the ratings. That's what they are there for.
It *could* be stopped by expanding the post farming rule to include ''how many posts in 5 minutes'' for a warning/ban. For example, if a person does 3 posts in under 5 minutes, that have no helpful answer to them, should be considered post farming.
Before the ratings were added, the lack of ratings was kinda used as an excuse just to post farm for some people... EDIT: A way people might post farm evade/post farm is to quote a helpful post and just simply say ''I agree'', adding nothing to the post they quoted.
I class posting "Support", "No Support" and "Neutral", when people don't implement a valid reason as post farming, as there are actually ratings which do the exact same thing, minus giving a reason.
omg yes, I get so ticked off when people just say "No Support" or "Neutral" on my mod app, or just apps and suggestions in general. It's even more triggering when they say Reasons stated Add more colour I don't get it (omg) Sounds weird Won't be good
