Ok, so I bought a Mac server G4 off of Ebay. Not for MC, just facebook, twitter, etc. When I boot up, it says <Shell>: kinda like cmd/terminal. Can anyone help me get past this? Kind regards, uNsLaIn.
@Zulfqar This person knows coding within OSX.
Ok, and btw. I am using virtualbox, but I have read the EULA and they said I can since I have been a Mac customer. Also, it is a DvD, and it does not show up. Is that what is causing it?
You either got scammed or there's an essential component missing in your MAC that was taken out before you bought it. Contact an Apple store near you for more help, this is out of our reach to fix. Might as well let the company fix it.
so you bought a server the shell is a normal thing. Similiar to the command prompt of windows or the terminal of linux. Your server doesn't have a graphical interface loaded so mostlikely its startx while typing in the shell. If it isn't a quick google search should help you. HAve fun with your server. and you didn't get scammed thats what servers are like.
So.. what stuff can I do in the server? Btw when I type startx it says not recognized. So, the server is just the shell thing? No mac stuff? That's $5.00 I'll never get back. xD
not it wasn't a waste of money a server is a way different from a computer you'll be able to do amazing things just got to learn how to do it google and stack.exchange are your friends with these kinds of things.
Anyway <Shell>: is something to do with a graphics card/DVD drive, either something is missing or the terminal isn't booting up properly.
Wonder why, I did the tutorial correctly. I think I will settle for My Windows 8.1 @PopIs_MyLife lock please, thank you everyone for You're help
