So, I go on creative and I do /plotme home, and it tells me: 'Plot #1 does not exist'.
So, I do /plotme home spencerlev38, my username, and I get to my plot, only to find that I can't break blocks.
When I go over to the sign on the side of my plot, it now says that SpencerLe 38 owns the plot, as opposed to SpencerLev38.
      Please help.

Wrong section. I'd say that it's either to start a new plot or wait for the admins to do the update to 1.8 completely and wait for them to do something about this.

Go on your plot and type /plotme dispose then /plotme claim and you should have access to it again.

I dont know if this is the case on Mineverse, but the other servers remove plots after a while if they're not on enough, but in this case i say the system was about to remove it till you suddenly come on and it's like "Oh , I need to fix his plot!"
So yes its a glitch but you could try to get evidence and go to staff, saying about the error the system made.
