If the computer doesn't need to be over the top to game seeing that you'll use it for minecraft, the Sims, etc. you're not going to need a whole lot. Although I play on a Macbook Pro, the game runs fine at 60 frames with a 2.8GHz processor and 8GB of DDR3 RAM, along with a mediocre graphics card. No need to over-invest if you don't think it's worth it. A computer similar to THIS should be more than enough for what you need. When you go out just set a standard for what you think you're going to need, look at computers similar to that standard, and pick what you like best. Hope you find something you like
