OP PvP Reset [Poll]

Hey guys,

As many of you guys already know, OP PvP was majorly griefed earlier today. Quite a few unfortunate circumstances has put us in the position of more than likely resetting the server, however we would like your opinion first. This poll will only be open for a few hours as we would like to make our decision very quickly.

In regards to what happened, basically it was a firewall issue that allowed a random user to login to my account in offline mode granting him OP, this issue only existed on the dedicated server where OP PvP, KitPvP, & Survival is hosted on which is why all 3 of these servers were affected. We recently moved all of the servers to new machines so along the way something wasn't set right and offsite incoming connections were able to come through, normally this would be fine and would cause no issues because the IP/Port and all isn't even available or known from the outside, however he was able to scan for the IP/Port, see that it was accessible (and not blocked like everything else is) and just simply login to my account in offline mode as he logged in directly and not through the main server address. As i've mentioned we moved everything recently, we were also still in process of setting up our offsite backup machine so the latest backup we currently have of OP PvP is from April 19th. It's very upsetting that all of this happened, and how some lowlife goes around doing this solely for his own enjoyment, it's only what a loser would do. But to move on, we have to go through with one of the options below.

So currently there is only two options we can proceed with.

1. To reset OP PvP, by this we mean only items, enderchests, player vaults, and balances. The map and everything else would stay the same.

2. To use a backup of OP PvP from a month ago (April 19th), all items/money earned before April 19th is fine, anything after April 19th till today (May 17th) basically doesn't exist.

Please let us know as soon as possible what you think, we will announce the decision very shortly.

And in regards to Survival & KitPvP, from what we can tell they are just griefed spawns. We can fix this for Survival after OP, and for KitPvP, we can do the same or go through with a reset even though it's not entirely needed but if it is wanted. Edit: KitPvP & Survival are all good and back online!

you might want to secure your ports before resetting it.

The issue is already fixed.

 

Your server will die if it resets. Just saying.
