This command will give you the ability to change your name that shows up in the chat. It would allow players to call themselves a name that they couldn't call themselves as the name may have already been taken. Example: /nickname (name) Thanks for reading ;) Edit: Moderators will only be able to see their real IGN. And if they have a nickname you can /real name (nickname) And if it's a nickname there will be a ~sign before the nickname starts.
No support sorry. if you are in a game mode such as skyblock and you need to ban someone but they have a nickname you won't know who it is.
Well if cyp did this, they could give us a command from essentials called /whois which would provide what there actual ign is. But they could use their nickname to troll new players. I'm gonna have to go with Neutral

Support, also if this does get added you can scroll over the players nickname then it would show there real ign. ex) Harambe then scroll over there name its xxkillaxx
If I did /nick Porkchop245 and said 'kys' then you would get banned and there is nothing you could do about it, this would be abused tremendously
no support It would be good, but if a hacker sees a mod on, they would add a nickname and leave quickly so it takes time for the moderator to find the real name before they hit that disconnect button. I Think you would be able to do /realname [Nickname] and it will tell them your real nam
What you can do is look for the ~sign before the name, staff and player impersonation would not be abused as much now. Thanks for your opinion.
No support. As others had said, it could be abused and used for staff impersonation. Even if you can do that command, new users might not know it and speak to someone they think is CypriotMerks and is in fact someone that will troll you. It would also be hard to report and ban, because you'd have to add in evidence about their real username and it would take longer than wanted. Nice suggestion though!
