Good Day, Given that there is rumor of a reset of survival, I wanted to offer this suggestion ahead of any reset. It has been my experience that over time, the world gets rather torn up and can be a major limiting factor in gaining resources or building. What I am proposing, is the introduction of a mining warp for resource gathering instead of the building world. This idea is not specifically at survival and could be used on factions/opfactions, but I wanted to put it out there. This mining world would be a simple sign warp at spawn that would take you to a standard map, but would be there mining could take place and would be reset periodically. Players would have no ability to claim land here and anything built would be reset when the world is reset. Buildings would of course remain in the static "main" world. This main world would be exactly as it is today, the new mining world would simply be in addition to. Positives: Allows an area where people could strip mine the land without permanently causing any inconvenience to other players as it would reset. Ensures players do not have to run for several minutes/hours to get outside of areas where other players have mined. Changing world seeds of the mining world and regeneration means players will not see the same areas twice when the world resets. Negative: Obviously this reset would be a recurring task for the administrative team and may be more of a burden than they would like. It could potentially be done automatically with a Cron job or scheduled task, but may occasionally need manual intervention. During the time the mining world is being reset it would be unavailable for use. If done off peak hours, this impact should be minimal and would only be once a month or every other month. Players may lose any buildings in the mining world, but signs at spawn should call this out and cover the server against any loss of builds. (This is what the build world is for after all) Considerations: World Guard the first 100 blocks from spawn in the mining world. No pvp or user interaction with the ground to prevent griefing the spawn point. Perhaps only give access to mining world to voters. You vote for the server and get access to the mining world for 24 hours. (Did that on another server in the past) Change world seeds on reset. We found if we used the same seed, players would use mods like voxelmaps to mark diamonds and simply rush to them or set homes to them. Changing world seed prevents that. If claims are allowed in mining world, make sure the claim blocks get refunded on reset from that world. Which worlds allow PVP, build world, mining world or both. If anyone else has any positives or negatives to this idea, I will try to incorporate them into the list. If there are any considerations for specific game modes such as Factions, OP Factions, Survival etc, please mention them with your pros/cons and I will tag it in the list as such. Cheers, Melgrath

This is indeed true. the hope though is that players would prefer to mine in the mining world as over time, the build world will get depleted, whereas the mining world would not. So it is by no means a silver bullet, merely a means to help reduce the inevitable map destruction.
