Hi everyone welcome to this thread on How to become a moderator on mineverse and get supported along the way. This goes over how to be accepted by the community. Since most that apply and have just met requirements to be suitable I would like to go over some things you should do before you apply. How long do I need to wait before I should apply? Now listen. On my first application I did what everyone else did. 50 posts and 2 weeks of registration not only this but I was bashed hard to the ground on my application to become a moderator. Why was this? I had no bairly no interaction on forums. Getting the 50 posts for me was very easy. In my opinion you should wait atleast 2+ months before you apply. Many moderators like Canucks, Whyte. That have stayed on the team for years have done this. So wait why do I wait? Hear me out. People won't accept new players to the forums that have only just met requirements a support. Infact a moderator has never been accepted with only 50 posts in the past 2 years. This significantly lowers your possibility to get moderator so I suggest 2-4 months. Of practice before you take the leap into applying. If not alot of people will be neutral or no support since you are new. What does A moderator do? How do I help them to gain Mod? Before you become a moderator you need to help former moderators secretly in hope's they will support you and in the end suggest you to higher up Senior Moderators Or Head Adminstration. Now you are probably wondering how do I do this? Well it's actually pretty simple hear me out. Whenever a hacker or rule breaker is online your goal is to record that player and post it to forums. This shows moderators you are capable of seeking out rule breakers of your own and banning them or taking the right action towards those user's. Replying and making improvements. & Handleing critizem well and avoiding flame wars. Now listen basically the worst thing that can happen on your moderator application is A flame war. Basically this is when two people spit balls of fire at each other! Well not exactly it's when two users fight on one user's application about topics. Such as if the user wants to change the other user's mind about a certian topic. Usually the other person will be very defensive about stuff and this will end up spamming your application with rubbish. Learn how to keep things short and consise or straight to the point. And avoid argueing about things people accuse you of doing just be genuine. if you did something you shouldn't have done in the past like hacking. Confess to this mistake and say you have learned from it. Handleing Critizm Something I used to struggle with alot. Just keep in mind when someone no supports or neutrals you 90% of the time they will state reasons. For example inactive, rude, doesn't do reports, Now these are all valid reasons why someone may or may not support you. What you have to do is try to work on things such as inactivity. What you can do more often is get on the server to interact to show everyone you are ready to be promoted. Now I will be getting in depth of some good replys look like. What a good reply looks like Hi, (user1) thank you for the time to respond. I will try my best to be more active to hopefully gain a support from you! Thanks again. (emoji) What a not-so good reply looks like. Hello user1 this what you said was not true. And is very rude of you to accuse me of doing! Whats wrong with this red reply? The user who is replying comes off very agressive to the person on how they feel about someone. There will always be people who will try their best to try and make you fail at being Moderator. What this does is it starts a flame war. Which i've already talked about already two users will fight over nonsense that will not be solved whatsoever. Does this help let me know. If this helped you thanking me personally always makes me feel good! It took me alot of time to make this format to help players do their best on getting Moderator if you follow all of these steps you will be more likely to gain Moderator position. This is to help alot of new players since they seem to be discouraged by critizm. Which I had alot. Thanks so much for reading and have a great rest of your evening!
Honestly no. This isn’t good advice. The misconception that moderator opinions are more highly regarded than players isn’t all true. Moderators may recommend you, but moderators make opinions based off of others and if the community doesn’t like you, we probably won’t either. If you only like me and help me/talk to me due to me being a moderator, you’re fake and I’d rather not talk to you at all.
It's not intended to be as this. I meant this as reports are good seperate relationships stay as they are. The idea of this was to help moderators and bring in a new flow of people helping not to be fake to misconstrude moderators into supporting you.
A few things on this. This is not at all what happens, when we (maybe only me, I'd hope the rest do the same) look at supporting an applicant we read through the posts, we look at their history, and we don't just support them because they're doing a crap load of reports. This is honestly stupid, you should report people because it's the right thing to do and because it helps out the server, if you only report in hopes of secretly getting moderator than you shouldn't be applying for moderator. "And say you have learned from it." to me this honestly sounds like "Even if you didn't learn anything from it say you did anyway so you can get their support" This whole thing just sounds like a guide on how to have a fake personality, and I would honestly rather have somebody that speaks their mind (to a certain extent) than somebody who's all fake happy and acts like everything is sunflowers and lollipops. I'm not trying to be rude or anything in this even though it may sound like it, I'm simply trying to clear some things up on what I view aren't correctly portrayed in this thread.
Erm no. The intent to help a moderator and to help the community. Also what I said is it's to show moderators you know what hacks look like. And since it's the right thing to do who ever said it was only for moderator? I stated it helps you become one. Confessing to a mistake you make it sound like I don't want the player to be genuine I want the player to be genuine and confess to their mistakes. If they do this it helps the community forgive and give a second chance. I don't want them doing this for moderator which some players have chosen to do. I am not portraying this as a good example. Anyways you may see this in a different light but alot of the things you said was sorta twisted around I didn't mean it that way at all.... I made this thread to help new players and the community not to set a bad example. Exactly why I made a 5 paragraph thread. @i_am_youtuber
