Hey everyone! I've really been enjoying participating in the Mob Arena. It is a great new addition to the recently re-released Skyblock and I think it adds a lot more enjoyment to the game. Now because I have been playing it so much, I've found some areas in which improvements can be made to increase the enjoyment of the Mob Arena and Skyblock. So here they are! 1. Arena Chat I was thinking that the people chatting in the Arena could be annoying or even a nuisance to players who are not participating in or spectating the Arena, so having an Arena chat could solve that. This is how I was thinking it could work. -When you join or spectate (/ma j or /ma s) the Arena you are automatically given access to see the Arena Chat, while still being able to see the global chat -When you join the Arena, your chat is automatically set to talk in the Arena chat. To talk in global while in the Arena, put "/g" in front of what you say to make it global. (Make it so a message appears saying that so people know) -Give people in the Arena the option to disable the global chat with /dg (disable global) so that they are able to only see what other people in the Arena are saying 2. Ability for Medics Often times a medic will come to me to heal me and I think "What a nice person", but my health is already full or close to it and I didn't need to be healed. So I thought of a way to solve this problem. -Give only Medics the ability to see the health bars of the people in the Arena 3. Upgrades Round after round of killing mobs gets more and more difficult or even boring with the same weapon. So maybe to make things interesting a selection of possible upgrades to the weapons/armour could be added. Each upgrade would only be one level of one enchantment at a time, and players wouldn't be able to max out their gear because then it would be too easy. -When it's upgrade time, each player in the Arena will receive the option to upgrade some of their gear. This could be upgrading the bow by one power, flame or punch. Or the sword by one sharpness, smite, etc. Or (a single or all, doesn't matter) peice of armour by one protection, projectile protection, etc. There would be a lot of upgrades to chose from. -Upgrade time would be after every 10 rounds. With a large group of about 15 people, I've only gotten as far as round 41 when I was left alone. So there wouldn't be many times to upgrade. Or. -Another possibility would be to have upgrade time after a player has reached a certain amount of kills. -Some upgrades/ranks too OP? Well that can be fixed by allowing only the certain upgrade/rank to be upgraded every 20 rounds. For example adding sharpness or protection to the donor kit. This will even out the upgrades and make them fair. -This would also add in a type of strategy to the game as well as add more depth and thought into the decisions of the players participating. -Once everyone dies and the game starts again, all the upgrades will be taken away/set back to default. 4. Flagged as Ready? Some people when they join the Arena may not know how to be "flagged as ready" or even what it is. The first time I joined, I didn't know either and I was kicked. When playing, I've been telling everyone in the Arena to click on the iron blocks to be able to join, but I was thinking that signs could just be added to do that. -On the class board, below where the classes are listed, add signs saying "Once you have confirmed your Class, Click on the Iron Blocks to be Flagged as Ready". This list will expand when I think of new ideas to improve the Mob Arena and will lessen if a suggestion(s) is accepted. Thank you for your time. Support but maybe for an upgrade we could get money for each kill and use that money for a ma shop to buy better weapons etc.. Idk that what I think would be cool :P
Thanks EccentricPotato_. Well I saved my edited version right after you posted. :p But I explained that after everyone dies/leaves and the round ends, everyone's upgrades will be taken away. This will prevent stacking and things becoming too easy. It will also make the players choose wisely about their upgrades, and gives them the chance to explore all the different combinations they can pick. Thanks for the support though.
I'm torn on this. Even without upgrades, its possible to get to level 30+ fairly easy with specific classes. Archer and donor/zerker make it pretty easy to get 20+ and archer is 30+ easy if you are willing to put in the time to kite forever. I think the issue with upgrades, is that it allows people to get too far in waves. Given the rewards in later waves (diamonds and such) I am worried doing upgrades in gear will have an impact on the economy as players more routinely unlock things like diamonds/gold/etc. My second major concern is time. Currently a match lasts 15-30 minutes in most cases. If upgrades were possible, it could very easily be that match times increase. Would locking yourself in for 45-60 mins for a mob arena game be fun? Would waiting 45-60 mins to get in be fun? Aside from the upgrade thing, I support the rest of the ideas. EDIT: Perhaps instead of upgrades to gear, give a potion of choice to the players every 15-20 levels. (Strength, Haste, Fire Resist, Health)

Which is why upgrades that would be too overpowered would be more difficult to get. Such as power on the bow for archer, or sharpness on the sword for donor/knight. Thanks fir the support as well. All of them have my support, I especially like the idea of medics being able to see health, it would help a lot :D
