So supposedly, Minecraft 1.11 is supposed to be released today. What I'm wondering is if Mineverse will be supporting 1.11, and if this will cause Mineverse to update to 1.9 PvP.
They should make it so the pvp gamemodes go in 1.7.* and the other servers with building, etc updates each time minecraft does, but I don't know if they will do it.
I hope we don't use 1.11 support. Also, 1.9 pvp is not good i really hope we don't use it i do not like it one bit. You get to push people it sucks.
As Bexrs said, i think most of us prefer 1.7 PvP as compared to 1.9 PvP (MOST), so I think PvP gamemodes should have 1.7 mechanics in it, and the other gamemodes having the updated versions, if it is possible...
I hope that Mineverse decides to support 1.11, as I would love things like the Totem and the Shulker Box. And the mansion, oooh yes please.
To be fair, Mineverse and many other servers did not want 1.9 at all to exist nor the EULA rules that came afterwards. They wanted Mojang to go back into the afk hole they were in and stay there. Many of the servers either voted by the communities they had to say no to 1.9 update or wanted to keep making a profit off donor ranks. Either way, the community itself has been in a very good split over 1.9+ being good. Here's the thing, people don't like change, however new players don't like servers that aren't updating to new versions either. Therefore, population to these under 1.9+ servers are dying quickly, take a look at MV for instance. MP and HP on the other side of the fence are supporting both 1.10 and maybe 1.11 soon and below for the max amount of interest by new players and old ones as well. These huge servers are surviving the EULA enforcement's because they figured out how to make money while following the EULA and having the most players on a multiplayer MC server. If MV and many other servers want to survive, they will have to update to 1.9+. That being said, hopefully I do wish Mineverse updates to 1.9 from the new update as a sign of a series of new updates coming to MC that will help increase quality of the game. In the last year we have had 3 major updates (1.9, 1.10, 1.11) plus a EULA enforcement. Mojang is back from being afk for the last 2 years and is kicking butt at these servers that aren't updating.
The only thing that people don't like above 1.9+ is the PvP aspect to it. I'm sure, if after a few weeks/months people would gradually get used to that way of pvp, right? Updates will eventually happen in the future. I personally don't mind either way.
Maybe there should be many same gamemodes on different versions, so it would be possible to go in all gamemodes and you could choose if you go in 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10 or 1.11.
Are you experienced in the PvP community on Minecraft, because most people that are (including me), don't want to update to 1.9 or 1.10 or 1.11
I'm definitely experiences within PvP on Mineverse. I'm also 100% aware that the current 1.8 style of PvP is "better", per say. That doesn't mean updating to 1.9 in the future would be a bad thing.
