I've dealt with mental issues for a very long time, and writing lyrics down have really helped me cope. I've been getting into rapping and making music, and I don't know how to pursue it. I'm open to any suggestions/sharing some lyrics.

Market yourself on instagram, its the best platform to get yourself out there. try to collaborate with local artists/producers or people with more of a fanbase in general. if your not learning how to use DAW's already, start learning how to use them, they are essential to music production.

When writing rhymes and first starting off, you will more likely than not be awful at the beginning YOU WILL GET BETTER . But keep at it and keep working and you'll improve. I would say it's best to write as much as possible and not just when inspiration hits you. That way you are constantly honing your skills. When starting out, you'll honestly be copying your influences but as you go on you'll grow into your own artist. When making songs, make music that YOU want to hear.

As for being able to record, I would start saving up money and investing in a home studio, rather than going to a professional recording studio. It's really simple to build one as I am currently building my own right now. It's not as difficult as it sounds and if you are interested PM me and I'll be glad to help.

As for where to upload your music, use Tunecore: https://www.tunecore.com/ make sure to market your music on social media, collaborate, and network to get your name out there.

I'd love to help further, so feel free to PM me.

Also, find yourself a producer to fit your sound and style.

(Oh and PM me some bars)

Yeah, I meant market your music and have it on Spotify and other streaming platforms so you can start making at least SOME revenue. Even though Spotify pays next to nothing. (Tidal is where you want to upload music if you have the fanbase)

If you are really working with next to no funds, Soundcloud and YouTube are the best places to build a fanbase then branch out from there.
