I agree i have been false banned twice before but it happens everyone makes mistakes and it is more likely because in recordings if the one recording isn't lagging and you are it can make you look bad and i know that from personal experience...
" the mineverse staff are always rained well enough" ya thats completely false this is not a professional or legit server at all
So you're saying that 10 of your bans weren't false? You have literally no right to say anything about staff until you have been one. I have been staff on a server with about as many people as Mineverse has, and I personally believe that for the most part staff are very helpful. There are some problems, but everyone makes mistakes. Also if a staff member dislikes you, there's probably a good reason for it... probably the 10 bans ;)
Excuse me? Moderators are trained by mentors upon joining the team, and all Moderators are monitored by Head Mods on their progress and behaviour. Moderators have meetings and seriously discuss issues regarding the server (if this is leaking, which I don't think so since a lot of people know about this, please remove it @Mods) and try to solve them. Moderating Mineverse isn't a paid job, it's a volunteer thing. For "volunteering" to moderate the server, I'd say all this is considered really good for a volunteer duty. If you're just hating on the server saying that it's not legit, then your entire opinion here is pretty much incredible.
I do agree with this to some extent. Staff Members are trained to succeed in there Moderating, but everyone makes mistakes. I do think some Moderators need more training than others but other than that this is not a big issue.
What's the target audience for a Minecraft server? Oh? 11 year olds? The mentoring system was pretty weak when I was seeing it in effect.
My personal experience with my mentors, Alex and BlackZone, was effective enough. It also provides a form of support for the newer Moderators.
I invented the Mentor system and was a head mod here for a year and I can tell you the team will never be 'perfect'. There will always be flaws that the team needs to adapt with. While I don't think the staff team is untrained and bad, I don't think it's amazing. Some mentors are better than others regarding activity, training, etc. It all depends really.
I just read all the 4 pages to see what y'all have to say about it and i've made some conclusions. There are replies by people just crying for their false bans, replies by ex-staff/players arguing for no reason and getting the thread out of topic and replies by people stating that all staff are humans who just volunteer to moderate tbe server and they can be mistaken. Yes i agree with some of you they are humans and they can make mistakes. There are some staff members more expirienced than others at detecting hacks and more. The mentor system i would say it's good as i've seen it working on a server i was staff. I dont know if it works with the same way but i could say it does its job. As for the hacks i think that having proof of each punishment you give is a requirment not only here but on every single server. Now im gonna bring the topic to another thread that is goimg on this time about screen sharing. Of course some of the mods cant ss but there is a solution to that problem that we used to do on the server i was staff on. Mods get a test by a higher staff member. The higher staff gets to be screenshared while having a client on (you dont have to be on mineverse when the test is in progress) and if the Mod finds the client the higher staff is using then he's gonna be qualified to screen share any player that looks suspicious after having 1-2 videos of the player look skecthy. Now if the mod doesnt pass the test he's gonna have to record the suspected player being sketchy and the report it to a qualified mod to ss him or just ask him to watch the player. There could also be screen sharing lessons for the mods who want to learn how to screenshare or just host staff meetings to teach them.
Mods having to screen share before banning will take so much time. Many players won't want to screenshare/claim they don't know how/claim that they're getting off soon and won't have time to do so. Then what are you supposed to do? Ban them? Screensharing will also take a lot of time.
If a players fails to screen share then he gets banned for "refusal to ss". Also yes i know it takes some time but it's better than false banning or having players who cheat their off on and think they're actually good
Most people can't SS or don't know how to SS. Are you just going to ban people for "not screen sharing"? That's ridiculous. Plus, teaching someone how to SS (1 on 1) would take ages. Do you know how much time that will take Moderators to ban people like that? Up to 15 minutes, or 20 minutes. Who really has that much time to deal with one hacker who is blatantly hacking in your face? I think it's nonsense, to be honest. As long as Moderators are unsure and get a second opinion on their recording, that will be good enough. Ban appeals can be made.
If you go check the thread about screen sharing i've posted a way on how to screen share people. In one screen share lesson the mod who is sharing his screen can give the code of the meeting to multiple staff member at once so it doesnt have to be a 1 on 1 lesson. Also i didnt mention about screen sharing the ones who are blatantly hacking but just the players who might be using a ghost client like vape etc
Would be a hassle since many people won't be clear on how to use it, nor would they want to sacrifice playing time for this.
