As I said, you don't understand. You don't just 'do the glitch'. You do it as you're being hit. It is extremely obvious if someone is doing it. It's just like auto disconnect. You're acting as if combat tag is 2 seconds long when it isn't. There are not many variables involved whereas you are making out there is. If you lag out, it is obvious that you didn't use this glitch. If you click disconnect, it is obvious you didn't use this glitch. Furthermore, I had about 15 seconds to tell Cyp about this and he quickly thought up a punishment. Since you can contact him so well, why didn't you do it in an attempt to get it fixed when you were aware of it? DJ. I understand that you were a mod, but with all due respect, it doesn't mean that you know 100% what you are talking about, and I don't think you played much. I find it ironic that you think the moderators can change something here. The easiest way to solve this problem is to make it punishable. There is no way to disconnect that is even NEAR this.
Taking advantage of a glitch or exploit should be a tempban. I agree that using macros to spam and get kicked without dying is an exploit. Using a hacked client that kicks you in the same way at a certain health level is also unfair and breaks rules. But 30 mins? The problem is MV's punishments are too leinient. Players hack and get unbanned in 2 days. Swear in the chat? Muted for 10 minutes. How is that even punishment?
Macros themself are bannable, and you don't need them to do this. You can do it manually extremely easily. :/ It was a snap decision. We didn't exactly have much time to talk it over.. Don't worry, I'm trying to bring it up.
Also, you can see if it is logging because they will stop and saying something in chat as in "KappaKappaKappaKappaKappaKappaKappa." This is a long message which will be an easy way to spam out. If they were to get kicked you would see them fighting and then get automatically kicked. You would not see them pause to write a long message in chat to spam out. Now, when your connection is lost, you usually are frozen. People will most likely attack you. Also, when you spam out you know they spammed out, because they are temporarily denied from the server (60 seconds).
Make a suggestion saying "if you hack you have to wait 1-2 weeks to appeal?" That would stop most of the Donators that hack
I've spoken to Cyp about the punishment system here being too leinient. If I can spam and get out of combat safe only risking a 30 minute ban, why not? Seems worth it to save my gear. If I can call a player horrible names because they piss me off and only risk getting muted for 10 minutes, seems worth it. This server needs a solid rule & punishment guideline. Something that makes player think twice about breaking rules here. Hacking is a "perm ban" but players appeal and get unbanned in 2-3 days. How is that perm? I suggest an overhaul: Hacking first offense: 2 Week ban(only unbanned on accepted appeal of proven innocence) Hacking second offense: 30 Days. (only unbanned on accepted appeal of proven innocence) Hacking third offense: Perm. (only unbanned on accepted appeal of proven innocence) Glitching/Exploits: 2 Day temp ban. Player disrespect: 1-2 Hour mute.
No waiting on appeals. Go ahead and appeal. If the evidence provided is deemed false or invalid by other members of staff then the appeal is accepted. If not, ban stays. Having another mod view and decide on ban appeals helps to stop biased mods denying appeals.
If I ban a player for hacking and record him. That player appeals and I show my evidence. Another mod(third party)should decide on that appeal. That would stop claims of biased mods banning and not accepting appeals out of personal reasons.
Or your like me and whenever you PvP you have 1 fps and when you get 5 it says SPAWN or the go to start screen thing...
