Hi everyone, I've finally clarified with Cyp that PvP Logging is now bannable. For first time offenders, it will be a 30 minute tempban, and then extended, and then a ban. This exploit bypasses combat tag to log you out without dying and can be done extremely easily. From my knowledge this is now server wide, so PvP Logging on any server is bannable. I just thought I'd let ya'll know so there is not any confusion with this. Cheers, Gizz.
Lmao, please explain how exactly will you determine it is pvp logging? What if someone lost connection? Or was simply kicked? This is a stupid rule, and can be mistaken for many things. so good luck lol with catching the offenders of "pvp logging".
The people saying it's a dumb rule, let me tell you, it's not. If you were to lag out during pvp combat, you'd die with your gear unless no one kills you while lagging. People who disconnect the game while in combat is what they are trying to stop, and enforce this new rule. Like for example, if I were to be hitting a player and they log without dying, meaning they either used auto disconnect or they just spammed out. But if you were lagging out, you'd die. So if you lagged out, your good and won't receive a ban, unless a moderator has down syndrome and bans a player for lagging out and can't tell if a player is either lagging or using some sort of cheat.. but otherwise if you were to spam out or auto disconnect, you'd receive the ban hammer for your bum hole. 8--)
The only reason why I build a lot is because I cannot pvp properly, sometimes my launcher crashes, if not, my router does :(
If you lag out, you would most likely die. This new rule is to stop people from logging during combat, either by spamming out or auto disconnect.
Uhh, why not just increase combat tag??? This will just get abused like always, with the lack of mods online. :/
Agreed, and anyways its kind of easy to tell if someone stops, presses escape and presses disconnect and presses yes because they stop moving, and it would kind of be evident if someone was lagging. and I agree with with you mostly, because that would be great, increase of 5 to ten seconds maybe?
Clearly you have no idea what I am talking about. Anyone who knows how to do it will understand what I mean by this. For those who don't know how to log without dying, that's good. Now, people can 'spam commands' in a certain way to have the server disconnect them. If they were 'simply kicked' then they wouldn't be punished. If they loose connection, they're not logging from pvp, they'll most likely die. What I am saying is that we could be in a room, and you could get me to two hearts, then I can spam commands and log without dying while in /ct. Perhaps you should do your research and look at the previous threads posted on the forums such as Bantz' one.
^^^^ Again, some people will know what I am talking about. The people who don't, I'm glad because that decreases the amount of pvp loggers. Here's a video of someone doing it: Maybe that will help people understand what we are talking about...
That moment when you hope it was really cyp on team speak and not some one who loves using his name also...
You guys don't get it. PvP Logging was an exploit that most people knew about when they spam the chat, you get kicked but the combat tag does not register, meaning when you kicked for spamming chat, the combat tag will not kill you. Hope you guys understand
Why can't you just increase the combatlog tag time to like 60 secs instead of this Edit: the post above explains it all, thanks for adding this
And what if they are just not combat logged anymore and they decide to leave? Thought about that one? And unless you forgot, I was a moderator, and I know this is exploited. It should not be a rule because of the amount of variables involved. I see many staff reports inbound due to the people who were innocent and were just lagged out/etc. I know mods who think this is just as stupid as I do. But, if you feel that banning is the only way to deal with this (not even putting a cool-down on similar messages like survival) then be my guest. It just goes to show the effort you guys put in to fixing the server.
I’m just a regular lagger so I know the difference. Personally I think you should punish them a bid harder because they lost the fight. And with laggers you don’t know if you would have won. It is a good rule but you need to punish them harder. And let’s say a mistake happened and you got reported for pvp logging but you didn’t and banned/temp banned you can always proof they were wrong they will understand.
