There are only 4 mushroom islands in 1 minecraft world...

 

...that's not how it works.

Minecraft worlds are infinite up to around 32 million blocks on an x or z axis. Past there chunks can't be interacted with but are still loaded. There can be an infinite number of mushroom biomes generated across the world; they're just spaced far apart and have certain paramaters under which they can spawn.

 

Its ok ducky, I found a new one;)
