It's very useful.It stops people from farming suggestions.Just use the support rating,it's there for a reason you know.

They did it to stop people just posting 'Support' and to combat post farming

But there's no reason for you to reply to it,unless you want to state an opinion,or if you want to make your message count go up.I'm sure the person making the suggestion can count the ratings easier than the comments.
