Many people on here complain that the moderators are not active enough, and a common counter argument to that statement is: they cannot always be on, they have lives. I'm curious to know how many hours a day (weekdays) do you guys EXPECT a moderator to be active in game on the server (and not simply chilling on the forums and/or discord). I will leave a poll above, but also feel free to comment your reasoning for your choice.
Whoever said 7+hours please note we don't get paid for this, in fact the only thing my moderators recieve from most of the community is hate. We volunteer for this server and if you guys think you could do a better job, then I encourage you to volunteer yourself and see what it's like.
7 hours is a ridiculously amount of time, not to include irl jobs, school etc in that time, of course it would be amazing if moderators could be on for that long but unfortunately that would probably be very rare to happen
I just want to see what everyone thinks and maybe it can show the mods what the community expects out of them. I'm not going to get angry over anyone's opinion. This is not a debate, but a survey rather.
there shouldn't be a problem with moderating, ESPECIALLY when there are ~15 mods and usually around only 50 ppl online at a time, all of which are on prison and OP. Buuuuut, it's not the staffs' fault... bc if mv was a swamp, all that's left rn is the dirt at the bottom
Honestly, moderators are gonna do what they're gonna do. If in someone's opinion 7+ hours is reasonable then so should people who think moderators only need to be on a couple times a fortnight. It's the decision to make a player a moderator which gives them the options and responsibility to decide how long they should be on and when they should be on. Many moderators have work, school, events and other things to deal with in real life, you can't expect them to be on at almost all times because they have lives outside of Mineverse which are obviously very important to them.
7+ hours? That’s the length of a school day; how is it even possible for someone to suggest that anyone can be online for that long on a weekday?
Staff dont have to be on for 7+ hours a day. They should at least be on for 1-3 hours at least per week thats my opinion.
Whoever said mods need to be on for 7+ hours a day, excuse my "disrespect" but you're pathetic, you try moderating this server above all other small servers, people are toxic to hell, including myself, people hack hard with inject/ghost clients so it's harder for mods to tell, people may be legit but look sketchy n you have to chat with other staff members about if they are legit or not, you also have to do staff meetings, chat moderation, forums moderation etc. If you think you can do 7+ hours on a Minecraft server a day, feel free but if thats so then create your own mod app instead of giving the other mods crap for not suiting your demands of being on for 7+ hours a day.
Obvious, all moderators should be held to the standards they put themselves to in their moderator application. hah.
