Hey! My name is ImTubeless and used to be a moderator on the old version of Hellblock, when it was an own server. I'm going to tell you how you start your island step by step. You get your island with doing /island. However, this is how your island will look like this. (Picture in the spoiler) Spoiler Except you don't have glass on it nor signs. So, when you get that your island contains soulsand, a glowtree, 1 chest, 2 lava sources (sometimes one but can be fixed, I'll tell you on later!) 4 dirt and sometimes 1 grass. The chest contains 1 bucket, 2 bones, 1 sapling, 1 netherwart and 1 of each mushrooms. So I'll tell you what to do to get started (how to get some netherrack to walk on). 1. You get rid of the glowtree to get some space to grow a tree. 2. You pick up the dirt from the 2nd layer of the island. I warn you, watch out for the lava. 3. You place a sapling on the dirt and use the bones to get bonemeal. 4. Grow the tree. 5. Chop down for wood. (Now you can make a crafting bench, signs and a wooden pickaxe) 6. Make the netherrack generator. (Picture in the spoiler) Spoiler 7. You mine the netherrack to expand your island. And there you have a simple way to start. Q. How do I get water? A. There is no water. Q. I had only one lava source, how can I make a generator now? A. The trick behind this is following, you make an infinite lava source. (Instructions how to build one further down) Q. How do I get more bones? A. You do /kit bone (works every 2h) or then you go to /warp mob. Q. How do I make tools? A. Check the warps at spawn on Hellblock. Q. Where do I get quartz? A. /warp trade should be the place thou it's not there right now. For other tips/hints, ask players while online. If you're online while no-one else is, go ahead and ask here. The signs at /spawn tells you the default things. Things that are illegal to trade: Soulsand Bucket Dirt Water (also illegal to own) Advanced Netherrack Generator http://www.mineverse.com/threads/advanced-netherrack-generator.26123 So any questions about Hellblock? Ask away, I'll be happy to answer every question. Infinite Lava Source (step by step, Tube's way) 1. You get your space where to build it, then you put a blocks in this formation as the bottom layer of your lava source. Spoiler 2. When you've built that, it's time for the second layer. Note, do not forget the sign that stops the lava (shown in picture below) Spoiler 3. Then you just finish it up with a roof over it and put the lava at its place. It should look like this. Spoiler Regards, ImTubeless NOTE, this is copied and slightly modified from a thread I made at Skyblock forums.
Well it was on the old one, I'm not sure about the new however, I believe it will stick. I'll edit if it's not true.
Beautiful idea. Gorgeous idea. I want you to win an award for this thread. And then get it stickied. The mass confusion today gave me a headache.
The new I do not know, I can try to find out how. But the old had /warp trade so if there is /warp trade with villagers, I suggest take a look there. If there isn't /warp trade, then it'll probably get added and villagers will be able to trade quartz.
May you post a screenshot of the advanced netherrack generator here? My browser won't let me access the link, As it says it has some sort of malware.
It seems like IGN has removed the video, so I'll provide screenshots of one I built in Single Player as I do not have materials to build on Hellblock. Okay, so I've always used redstone repeaters when I've made an advanced generator and 6 pistons. It can vary, I've seen those who use 1 piston, those who use 2 and so on but I've always loved 6 pistons as they produce fast enough for me. The things you need is: Piston (not sticky, how many is your choice) Building blocks (I've used netherbricks, just in case of a ghast) Lava buckets (Just make an infinite lava source for more lava) Redstone (To wire power to the pistons) Redstone repeaters (If you can make a redstone clock without these, then you can do it your way, this is just my way) Redstone torch (To give the redstone dust the power to make a clock) If you don't know how to make a piston, check the screenshot in the spoiler. Spoiler Then you want to build a normal generator with lava on the sides but this time pistons like in the screenshot in the spoiler below. Spoiler To get the pistons to push forward you need a redstone wiring, I have a clock so I don't have to go to pull a lever the whole time, check the screenshot below. Spoiler Then you set the click on the repeaters so that it is slower then usual because the lava pits need to create a netherrack between them, otherwise the piston will just pump air and you'll mine the netherrack that keeps the lava from you. I usually have it on the last click or some on the second last. Just try and see what fits you. And I want to point out one thing, if you want it to stop at 6 blocks, then use signs to block (because they are cheap to make). If you don't want to use signs to block, the pistons will push 12 blocks and stop there. Check MC Wiki for other blocks that could stop pistons if you don't want signs. Of course there are even more advanced generators but I haven't learned myself how to build those as this has been good enough for me. Hope I helped.
