At the moment i have seen a few issues with name changes, mostly with plots. This will be a simple guide to help prevent issues.
What issues can/will occur with name change:

• MCMMO stats will be lost.
• Claimed chests you might loose access to.
• Might loose access to your plot(s).
• People may not recognize you.

MCMMO stats can't currently be prevented but if you want to prevent how to sort out issues with the others here is how.
With claimed chests:
Just before you change your name, unclaim the chest and make sure no one else is around at the time. You can get a trusted friend however to make sure no one else can get to it. Change your name and quickly reclaim the chest. If you have already changed your name and have this issue please contact [email protected] with the issue and with evidence.
With plots:
Similar to the chest issue. Dispose/unclaim you plot quickly as possible, make sure you do this to all of your plots. If you have more than one plot, make sure there is someone you can tp to each plot so you can reclaim them. Change your name and quickly reclaim your plot(s).If you have already changed your name and have this issue please contact [email protected] with the issue and with evidence.
People don't recognize you:
Tell some of the people you know, you will be changing your name soon. If you already done this just tell them your past in game name.
