      Greetings!

I am writing the below as a tutorial for players when reporting others for rule violations. This topic will help you know which information the staff needs in order to properly discipline a player.

      What are the rules?

A full list of rules for MineVerse, both in game and on the forums can be found at
      http://www.mineverse.com/threads/mineverse-rules-forum-in-game.26324/

Why won't the staff just ban <name>? I told them that he hacks.

Please understand that the staff must have evidence of wrong doing before we can take action. It is not that we do not care, or we do not believe you, but as with any legal system, we need proof!

      What constitutes "evidence"

      • Screenshots - Screenshots are a fast and easy way to get proof for most non-hacking related offenses.
        • Scamming - Try to get screenshots showing what the deal is, their confirmation of the deal, and any possible screenshots of the actual transaction. This is to protect you and give us evidence of any wrongdoing.
        • Spamming - We have all seen spammers in chat. With lots of players it is bound to happen. Screenshots are a great way to show that yes indeed <name> was spamming,
        • Excessive foul language - Some players choose to ignore the rules regarding language. Screenshots showing their offenses will help the Staff take action.
        • Threats - ANY threat of bodily harm, DDoS, hacking, etc is taken very seriously by the Staff. Please screenshot the threats for any filed report. This includes threats made against other players.
        • Harassment - Harassment is another topic taken very seriously by the Staff. Please screenshot any harassment by another player. This can even be harassment directed at another player.
      • Videos - This the preferred method for showing hackers, tp killing or other offenses that a screenshot cannot adequately convey.
        • Hacking - Hacking is of course heavily discouraged on MineVerse, but it happens. If you suspect a hacker, record them in the act for us. We are happy to review footage to confirm if a player is or is not hacking. Even should the player be found innocent, we appreciate the efforts and will not be annoyed.
        • TPA Killing - Some players will call out in chat they may be giving something away, but if you TPA to them, they kill you. This is of course a violation of the rules. If you are able to record a player doing this, the staff is able to take action.
        • Deathwarps - Some gamemodes offer player created warps. Should a player advertise for a deathwarp, even if they do not own it, it is a bannable offense. Please ensure you record/screenshot the player advertising, and preferably record the warp itself showing it as a deathwarp.
        • Other offenses - If you prefer recording more than screenshots, of course feel free to record any of the offenses listed in the Screenshot section above.
      Submitting a report
Players are able to submit reports by creating a new thread at
      http://www.mineverse.com/forums/report-a-player.86/

      Format for a good report

I filled out a report on <name> two days ago! Where is the discipline!

Please understand that the staff are human. We try go get to reports as quickly as we can, but if a day is especially busy or the Moderator for a given gamemode is not on that day, your report may take a few days to be resolved.

Again, this is not because we do not care, WE DO. We just cannot be everywhere at once. Feel free to remind us though if you need. If after a day or two no one has responded, simply throw a "Hey!" post in there.

What happens when a report is complete?

Once a report has been actioned on by the Staff, it will be locked and archived with the action taken.

      Statuses for a report

      • [Banned] - Player has been banned
      • [Muted] - Player was muted in game by a Moderator
      • [Warned] - Player was warned to cease the reported behavior
      • [Lack of Evidence] - Not enough evidence for the staff to act
      • [Pending Mute] - Moderators will mute the player when they catch them next online
      • [Invalid] - No rule was found to be broken in the report
      • [Jailed] - Has to do with Prison gamemode explicitly. The player was jailed for their offense
I hope you have found the above guide to be informative! Should you have any questions, concerns or additional material I may not have included, please list it in the comments below. I will try to update this document as needed.

      Cheers,
      Melgrath
