So people say lots of mean things on forums, and I think having a 'Mean' rating would be kind of good. I'm not sure... But this is just a suggestion. This would be a negative rating, so it would make people be mean less, because they don't want to get negative ratings. BASICALLY Suggesting to add a 'Mean' rating took forums.
"It would make people be mean less" I think you mean it would raise the amount of rate abuse ten fold.
No Support. There is already a 'Dislike' option. Also, reason stated by @Holo . I know all the ratings in general have the risk of being abused, but having something like a 'Mean' rating would probably be far worse due to oversensitivity and rage. Aside from that, 'Dislikes' only share the rater's personal view, rather than assuming the intentions of the poster as being negative ('Mean' rating.) Example: "Constructive Criticism" Rated: Dislike ; The rater dislikes what was said. "Constructive Criticism" Rated: Mean ; The rater labels the post as having negative intentions, assuming the poster was intentionally being hurtful rather than helpful. This could encourage conflict between the rater and poster... "It wasn't meant to be mean" vs. "That was definitely mean".
