I am a huge fan of getting the Moderator Application spam under control. That being said I don't think the issue is just new members. I have seen a large number of very poor apps from more active members that show a lack of true desire to apply. So this idea will help, but I think there needs to be something else that would help players know what is required and actually spend time on an application.

I will be "that guy" and post a link to a thread, but I really do think that if people took the time, the overall content on the applications would be much better and help reduce some of the postings.

Zambiana got Mod when he was "New Member", your argument is not wanted. Btw, at the start you said you can't gravedig, but things that you can still add onto and things that will benefit the community aren't gravedug, they're still ongoing and are allowed to be posted in.
