I know they didn't do EVERYTHING, but they did heal as much as they could. When they failed to keep someone alive they blamed themselves. With the men away they had to do all the work for everyone themselves, take care of the kids, work in the farms, and still do jobs to raise money. They still did a dramatic amount of work. They were the backbone of world war 2
