actualy i build my base cover in obsidian only with lava and water and im prety happy about it
i did spend about double more time or even litle more then usualy, butt i didnt spend money on obsidian

and acording to my calculation i woud need about 2000 obsidian , thats alot money

Youst make water wall, and from botom to the top put lava on the place where vater falls and it will become obsidian, put /f home near wall and /home near lava pool deep down in caves

Red apples can easily be obtained from villagers, usually 1 emerald for 5 red apples.
