Well, someone recommended there being a factions tutorial or "how to," so I decided to make one.

I'd like to get one thing out there, don't expect not to get raided.

      Getting started

Let's say you've just logged onto the server for the first time and you are in your chain armor.

      • Find an open or clear path so you can run from spawn without being killed.
      • Run as far as you can, stop when you feel you've found the right place to settle down or build your base (I'd recommend at least 500 blocks out).
      • Create a source to get your starter money.
Some of the best ways to start out getting money
      • A nether wart farm (Soul sand + Nether wart)
      • A carrot farm
      • Mining! (Diamonds sell for $200 each in shop)

Once you've gotten a good source of money and have a decent amount of money

Once you're situated with money and a decent base, you'd like to start focusing on other things such as McMMO, pvp equipment, potions, etc.

      McMMO:
      • Swords/Axes/Unarmed: Make, buy or use a pigman or enderman grinder. (Unarmed is capped at 50)
      • Archery: A pigman grinder.
      • Alchemy: Set-up an area with a decent amount of brewing stands and brew potions. (You'll get to brew potions like haste at alchemy level 150).
      • Herbalism: Farms of any sort make getting this skill easy.
      • Acrobatics: You can naturally get it from falling, or make an acro grinder which isn't too hard.
      • Taming: Tame animals like wolfs/ocelots.
      • Wood-cutting: Fairly simple, cut trees!
      • Mining: Well, mine!
      • Excavation: Use a shovel to excavate sand/grass/gravel.
McMMO will help you with PvP, brewing speed, and over all power.
It is important to get MMO levels.

Best gear to buy when wanting to PvP:

      • Full Protection 4 armor
      • A sharpness 5 axe/sword
      • Potions; Haste, Speed, Strength, etc.
      • Ender pearls (Just in-case of emergency). ;)
Potions are essential in pvp, if you don't know how to brew, there is always google.
I don't think I need to list how to brew every potion.

      After a while

After you've made some good money, and have a steady balance of around 200k+, you're going to want to get above average items.
Some items/enchants that are good to have:

      • Looting III (sword)
      • Sharpness V (Axe/Sword)
      • Silk Touch (Pickaxe)
      • Thorns III (Armor)
      • Protection 4 unbreaking 3 (Armor)
      • Infinity (Bow)
By then, it'd be good to have a MMO grinder of some sort.
If you get up to around 500+ axes, you'll be dangerous to pvp wielding a sharpness V axe.
One major rule; No matter how long it's taking to get levels, do not use auto-clicker or any form of getting levels that isn't legit.
You could make some major money off of selling ender pearls, gold (Apples, blocks, etc.) if you have an efficient grinder. Obviously to make an enderman grinder, it requires you to be in the end, and not everyone is willing to tpa you there. All grinders vary in style, so it doesn't matter if others look different.
You could mine to get a lot of riches also, but it does take longer.

      Power Levels and claiming:
As one account, you can get up to 10 power to claim land for your faction/base.
If you are a one man army, try to make a base that only takes up about seven claim blocks,
you don't want to be over claimed because of death.
Over claiming is when another faction destroys your claim and makes it their own because you have more land claimed than power. It's not a good idea to have 10 claim blocks if you are all alone.
If you have alternate accounts, I'd suggest afk'ing thing for power so you don't have to worry about losing your base.

To see how much power you or another player has, type /f p (name)

To claim an area for your faction, type /f claim for instructions on the different ways to claim.

      Faction:
Creating your own faction to lead!
You can choose to create a faction will friends and not have too many people, or you can make it so there are tons of players in it. You can join a faction also.

      Enemies/Truces/Allies:

Enemy: Someone that isn't generally your friend and you can pvp in their claimed territory.
Truce: You guys are friendly and can not hit one another.
Ally: A step above truce, a lot of people trick new players into allying them so they can raid their /f home, so beware of that. You can manage all of this in /f perm as well.

Example: /f perm AgentWifi home ally no would prevent allies from being able to do /f home AgentWifi.

Well, I hope this helped with getting started in factions.
I will edit more in later when I think of more tips/guides.

      ~Agent. :)
