ok so the competition team spends a lot of time planning and creating competitions, and it only lasts a few minutes - a few days (depending if the comp is one day or split into rounds). my suggestion is to take all past comps and future comps and create an events gamemode where these competitions rotate and people can play! it can be like infection where you need X people for it to run/start. past competitions include: speed boat race (july 2022) spleef competition (june 2022) easter egg hunt sumo king of the hill hide and seek building comps scavenger hunt parkour competition bingo etc.. it would be cool to utilize and have these competitions turned into a gamemode, and as new comps are hosted, they can be added to the gamemode. lmk what you think !!
I think that this would be a good idea, because people really enjoy playing in the events and not only for the prices, but the unique gamemodes the competition team is making. Support
I feel like if we turn events into 1 game mode it would just die very quickly. Events are there to bring players together, compete, have fun and obviously win rewards. Perhaps we could create like a ‘MiniGames’ game mode? Where all the events are on a cycle of changing or you can choose which one to join and play. I’m neutral on this from this approach alone but if we can figure out a way to do it properly then I’m all for it.
I'm personally neutral on this. I agree it would be really fun to do something like this, and most of the competition events would translate pretty well to a separate gamemode, but I feel like it wouldn't work as well as intended. For example, I'm not sure how bingo would work in minecraft, it feels like it would be more work than it's worth to try and find a way to implement it (there could very well be an easy way to implement it though, I have no programming knowledge). Also, unlike infection, there isn't really any incentive for people to come back to the gamemode unless they're either playing with friends or bored and want to do some competitions. Maybe there could be some sort of incentive for winning rounds, like prestige in infection? Otherwise I feel like it would die out pretty fast after everyone played a few rounds of each competition.
