Currently, we have Moderators and head-moderators. Those are our only two actual staff member ranks excluding admin. Weird, right? I'm suggesting that we have Elder/Senior Moderators. Now I'll go over the majority of the permissions that this group would have//the current moderator perms. How would one obtain Elder/Senior Moderator? Trust within the head-moderators/admins Does more work than others Active in-game Ways not for it to be gained through: Time serving as a moderator Just because someone has been serving for eight months doesn't mean they're trustworthy or active, it just means that they've been able to do enough work to stay for eight months In reality, someone who has been serving for two months could be more trustworthy and active than someone serving for eight months. Special permissions: **Note - this is simply an opinion on what their permissions should be** Creative/OpPrison: /plot clear Head-moderators normally have this command, however, as of this date [7/12/16], they have not had this permission added back yet. Having this permission would prove being extremely helpful, as head-moderators are not always online, nor are admins. This would allow for issues of people having inappropriate builds or lag machines built. KitPvP/OpPvP: /invsee (with item removal perms) I'm not too sure whether head-moderators have this perm, or Developers, but I know for a fact the admins do. I realize that this command was removed from moderators a while ago, but if someone has a hacked item, or item no longer obtainable, who will be able to remove it? Force-tphere A command only recently given to head-moderators, I believe that this would be useful for those members that are stuck in blocks and cannot. Forums: Rating removal permissions To my knowledge, only nine people can do this right now: Pile, Cypriot, Crew, Nanurz, Dyna, Janice, Blackzone, Max, and Kinsey. I believe having this added would be more useful so that issues of rate abuse can be handled when these listed moderators are not online/are busy. All this does is allow for the moderators that are more trusted/active than others to have a rank that suites them more. Now, what's the difference between this and head-moderator? Head-moderators lead the staff team, and this position does not. This position would hold no greater say than the rest of the moderators, while the head-mods basically come up with the ideas and have the 'full-say' in what happens. I understand how I will probably get no supports for the following reasons: You don't like change What is wrong with change? Change tends to be for the better. You don't like how this isn't based off attitude Why would it be based off something like this? This being too similar to head-moderator Head-moderators have more of a say, this position does not. You don't see a need for this If you don't see a need for this, why? Should those who do more work not be recognized in some way? No, Timezone leader is not recognition Only three people have permission to lock and archive this thread. Noobcrew, Cypriotmerkz, and Pile. Peace :')))
Support. We've actually been trying to get Cyp to agree to this lately. I know I, and like every other mod, would love this.
This is already in the works. Not sure who's been talking but it's already in the making. Closing this.
