Why do you think you should be a Moderator? -------------------------- As a player of Mineverse, I've watched the community grow and develop over time, including its popularity. Mineverse is a big attraction, which attracts both positive and negative influences on the growth of the Mineverse community, which could lead to conflict between servers. As a Moderator, I would make sure that no negative influences would interfere with the Mineverse community. As a Moderator, it's a high priority to make sure that the citizens of Mineverse are not affected or confronted with these negative actions, to guarantee the positive influence throughout all of Mineverse. Mineverse is an outstanding server, and doesn't deserve negativity to circulate the community. I am not only active on my two favorite servers, but I also stop by each server for at least 10-15 minutes before I log off, to make sure that every player gets a chance to address any issues with me before I log off for the night. Now, I feel that on some Mineverse servers, some players get away with too much, like scamming, or your occasional hackers, even advirtising. This happens too consistently, and it upsets not only Mineverse players, but myself. It becomes a nuisance when you have to double check wether or not someone is going to scam you, or wether or not you're going to die to someone that has an unfair advantage. Players have even made multiple threads on how this affects their gameplay and how the situation is due to little to no moderators online. As a moderator, I feel that I would meet the needs and expectations of a moderator on Mineverse. This year I've been starting to get into the flow of Forums. Have you ever been banned in the past? ------------------------- Negative. Do you have any past experience as a Moderator? -------------------------- Yes. In fact, I used to be Co-Owner for a smaller server last year, but the server was shut down due to inactivity of players. I've also been Admin on a server around the same size as Mineverse. Which two servers would you like to Moderate? ------------------------- KitPvP & OPFactions Trustworthy ------------------------- I beleive as a staff member, you are a role model for every other player on the server. You have to act responsibly, be mature in every situation, and most of all, you need to respect other players, especially if they don't respect you. As a moderator, you need to show Mineverse that there is always a positive influence. Being trustworthy is a key element in becoming a staff member. You need to be able to show other players that you're their go-to person. You're the player that gives the best advice, tips, and motivation to inspire other players. Everyday I check up on each Mineverse server for at least 20-25 minutes to make sure there's no unresolved conflict with any player(s). I have been Admin and Co-Owner on other smaller servers, so I know how the process works, and how long I need to be online in game and on forums. Respectful ------------------------ As a staff, you need to be respectful to other staff, players, and respect certain situations, even if it upsets you. I'm used to handling tons of messages, spam, and other situations, but I've had the experience, and I know how to handle the situation calmly, and respectfully. I do have to admit, it is hard at times, but it's a must for earning respect, and getting respect in return. Patient ---------------------- When it comes to certain situations, you have to be patient. Just because you're going to be cooperative doesn't mean the other player will. You have to understand both sides of the situation, and realize how the situation may look in the other players' eyes. You also have to be patient with some offenders on the server as well, for example, hackers, scammers, advertisers, etc. You need to give them a polite warning before giving a sudden consequence. Approaching a situation calmly has a bigger impact approaching a situation harshly, and immediate. I've been in every scenario there is to know about situations on servers, and I must say, everyone one of them was a learning experience and brought me to the player I am today. Polite ----------------------- There's not any easier way to welcome a player than to be polite. Respectful, polite manner has always been a must to me. Players will always think highly of you if you're polite, and respectful to them. Adding to this, good manners when approaching a player is always a good idea. You'll never go wrong acting polite, wether it's a good situation, or a bad one. Especially as a moderator, it's important that I'm always creating a positive environment by being polite, respectful, and honest to other players. Honest ----------------------- Honesty is the key component in a staff memeber. Being honest shows you're mature, positive, and confident. Being honest in situations is important also, because the player needs to know wether or not you can help them, and given them made-up advice won't help them at all. At times, I'll have to tell a player that I can't help them, but I'll give them places to go, or people to talk to that can help them. Being honest is also respect the rules. I've never violated any Mineverse rules that apply to any server, I also have to tell someone wether or not what they're doing is following or against the rules, but to me, the biggest component in being a trustworthy staff member is being honest to yourself. Am I doing what's best for the server? Am I completing tasks I should be? Am I missing anything that I should be noticing? All these components General make me a more honest, respectful player.
