As you can see, my attempt at an engaging title was merely pathetic. A for effort amirite. Anywho, I believe that staff posts (multi mod posts, closing reports or any posts on reports, posts on ban appeals, posts in staff section - can't remember if this gives a post, posts in ban logs ect) should NOT count towards post count. Why? Post count is an amount that everyone has - Staff or not. I believe that in order for this amount to be a true reflection, staff shouldn't be obtaining post amounts from doing their duties. There is no need for this. In other words, to make it fair and equal for everyone. Furthermore, the top posters part on the forums would be a lot more truthful when you consider majority of those on there are/were staff members. Thanks I guess
I think that it is just fine for staff members to be getting counted when they are doing work. But I kind of see where you are coming from if you care about being on the notable members page so neutral.
Have you ever noticed their post count jump so much? It's because it's so easy to post farm(not accusing anyone) whether it's intentional or unintentional. It's not exactly a true reflection of the 'top posters' now is it.
Support. I'm not as bothered by high post counts, considering the amount of 'post farming' that goes on in suggestions and applications, but I guess the top posters page is pretty unfair regardless.
I understand where you are coming from but unless it was made that you could not identify who ran the multimod I do not think it is possible to do this as it counts as a post
Cyp can disable posts being counted in certain sections. I'd assume he could do it based on group as well. Tbh I think reports in general shouldn't count.
If he were to disable it in certain sections then it would mean the whole of the reports section would be postcountless meaning those who do lots of reports (Players) would not gain any post count
Guess what? I'm one of the people who would be effected by this. And I still 100% support the idea. Why? Because I'd rather it to be fair and a true reflection.
The moderators do more work for this server through the appeals and ban logs so I believe it's fair that they do higher their total post count by doing such things.
I agree. Handling reports and closing threads with the click of a multi-mod shouldn't really count towards your post count. It's more of a "moderator duty" than a post. Although, we close threads in all sections using multi-mods. Without disabling our ability to gain a post count in every section, there isn't a way to disable that. I do like the idea of getting rid of post count from reports, but I think users reporting should still gain a post count from it. If only it were possible to disable your post count increasing when using a multi-mod... Which, from my knowledge, isn't.
No support, dont think this is possible and mods are doing their job so how is one more post going to matter, its just some more pixels.
