Everyone I've talked to have been having connection problems with the mineverse.com/net and many of them including myself had to join through the skywars.com IP.

Is there something wrong with connecting to the lobby?

 

Mineverse needs a better host

 

use the ip skywars.com and then do /server <servername> to get to your server.
Ex. /server kitpvp
